Obviously, people(ie, non-denners) would bitch if all classes suddenly got the same die-type, or flat hp (levelXcon mod/level?) or something. But what if there was a baseline of, say, d8, with a variance of one die up or down? So burly fightan man classes get d10, "squishy" wizards and sn...

So is the new Neverwinter Nights the final destination for 4e? Yawn. ANOTHER Neverwinter game. No thank you. Don't worry, it is a new series that has nothing in common with the old games except Atari having a D&D license. And anyway, it's in 4E time, when the Forgotten Realms were raped by the ...

Re: A rage-mage that sucks less: Berzerker-Magus

Black Mages spells only do as much damage as plot needs.[br][br]Meaning it's a bad mechanic to use in anything that isn't a story told by one person.[br][br]The flavour is cool, but it's not anything that anyone would hand out to a player. Ever. Maybe this might be more interesting similar to a dus...

Note, this is the same Skip that basically made up rules as Sage without reading any books ever. Take it with a huge grain of salt. For some things, it has some nice advice on actually handling illusions in game, but other things are just as murky as ever: Beware of attempts to use figments as glam...

Thanks for the hints. I'm looking for this since I'm playing a caster in a group where most people are not interested in character optimization and play melee chars. So I decided I would simply play a support wizard... The blindsight spell looks cool, especially the version in Magic of Faerun with h...

3.5 - Items/Spells that against Fog concealment

What items or spells are useful to negate the vision impairment caused by Fog spells? Any ideas?

It's the other way around. They should not exist because spells should scale all the way, and no metamagic feats should be necessary to fix the crappy scaling.

What drives me nuts is that he didn't ask the most obvious question to put down the "edition war" speculation -- going forward, are you going to keep selling Essentials and the PHB side by side? Of course, the answer is "no", but the weasels never come out and say it in plain En...

it's a feat that allows you to create a sickening cloud either in the location of your conjuration spell, or adjacent to it. So you can Conjure Caltrops, and place a sickening cloud in or next to the cloud. It can also makes you vanish or appear in a Nightcrawler-style cloud of smoke when you telep...

It implies a lot more level-ups that E6 or E8. Level-ups are fun.

Going forward, the Dungeons & Dragons game will feature a system of proficiency with implements that works just like weapon proficiencies. If you are proficient with an implement, you can use it with any of your implement powers. It doesn’t matter where that power comes from—a paragon path, a d...

Nothing? I thought this was the responsibility of the local partners. You can't really put all of the onus on the local market to advertise. Remember, the primary point of sales will be in a damn BOOKSTORE, and we know how good at generating hype and ads and profits those things are. Yeah, they hav...

And it's not like non-ENG RPGs were built from a vacuum. DSA and Sword World were very obviously influenced by D&D. Influenced is a nice way of saying it. DSA was created as a response to one publishing house not getting the D&D rights, by an experienced D&D player. Unfortunately, the c...

Which would perfectly align with the goal of reducing the amount of save-or-suck spells in the game.
