If you are wearing armor or using a shield which you are not procient in, the armor check penalty ...

Stop being dicks and quibbling over the definition of happiness. He's right. Ask a player if they like RPGs with lots of choices. They will invariably say they do. Present them with 30 possible actions per round + movement and see if they're still happy. People are bad at knowing what will make them...

Is Heavy Armor better then Light Armor? This needs to be answered. The proficiency is a cost, but if it doesn't grant a benefit what's the point? What's worth noting is that the armor abilities are all over the place. Fast Healing 1, +2 to Diplomacy, +2d6 on charge, and ER=AC bonus to one type. The...

@200% crop yield, that figure is considered the bare minimum for sustainable life. Finding modern yield statistics is difficult because they're so high they're no longer measured by seed ratios.

Lots of DR acting as a backwards vulnerability has always bothered me. Replacing DR/ER with percentages is a bad idea because they would no longer grant immunity to things. Fire Resistance 10 means you can sit down in a fireplace but even Fire Resistance 75% gets hurt in the fire and that's dumb. Si...

Most of my concerns have to do with it, in my opinion, needlessly hindering choice as well as its justification (as regards its narrative) implicitly accepting post-hoc just-so stories rather than robust mechanics. If there was a way to do limited option arrays based on your tactical situation I wo...

I'm confused by some of the opponents of WoF. It seems that 80% of the issues posted are not inherent to WoF and instead qualms of TTG in general, like balance and the need for well written abilities. 10% of the issues raised could be easily dealt with by the specific mechanics of the WoF system, su...

Broader names for classes makes great sense. This can be taken farther by removing a large amount of fluff from classes. A great example is that old Psionic Naruto thread from from 339. Simply by refluffing psionic classes they were all turned into ninjas doing chakra magic. A player who reads EPH's...

Expanding on the concept of writing Powers which can be used in different ways at different action costs. Simply expanding all 'elemental' powers to be chosen as any individual element will grant many more choices at low writing cost. If Energy Wall can be a Standard action or an Immediate Action, w...
