I'm giving Weapons of the Gods a shot. The math actually looks halfway decent, and the kungfu seems to be right in the alley we're looking for. The players are all experienced gamers (20+ years) and game system collectors, so doing resource management is not daunting.

CGL does seem to be singlehandedly destroying two of the most popular rpg's of the 80's and 90's. It's really rather impressive.

We had this idea for a game we want to play, but we don't really have a game system in mind. Anyone have any ideas for a game system that would allow us to emulate fantasy china with miriad kung fu styles, and chi magic.

No, Shadowrun does not have weight related handicaps. Hell, they don't even really have encumbrance.

It also has the weird effect that most people won't wear significant armor. Low Level Magus is also going to be your trooper of choice over warrior. Because even if they can't csast first level spells, they CAN use spell combat.

I think that White Wolf completely destroying their Franchise is pretty much right up there.
