I would say that the defining characteristic of Shadowrun Magic is that magic USED to make sense.

I would want technomancers to do one of two things. 1. Blantantly become magical. Just admit that they're magical, and get on with it. Then all their assbuggery powers/abilities don't need to make sense. They're magical, have a day. 2. get rid of sprites, deep resonance, initiating, the more mystica...

What about disasters that cut across multiple states? or are arguably not in a state, but instead in Federal Zones. (I'm not sure if the 3 miles from coast zone is state or federal domain.) But then, I actually find the States Rights stuff in America to be on the whole pretty ridiculous. I don't tru...

I thought Frank was referring to the US not being happy with the slightly Socialist Government of Iran from 51-53. Which dovetailed into the US setting up the Shah, whose rule lead to the Islamic Revolution. Apparently, he was instead smoking some crack about the US backing the Islamic Revolution in...

Amusingly enough, I think most Americans would be happy if FEMA did take total absolute control, and organized Red Cross, Salvation Army, National Guard, and smaller volunteer organizations into something sensible. The problem has been that FEMA is wholly unable to cope with large disasters, which s...

I do know we're talking about the 1979 Revolution. The 1979 revolution happened because the US got rid of Iran's Democratically elected Government and replaced it with a brutal dictatorship. All because the US was getting it's dick sucked by Big Oil. That is the root cause of the 1979 Revolution. Th...

Iran started as a socialist revolution. Americans decided that they'd rather deal with religious fanatics than potential Soviet sympathizers, and here we are. Uh, what? Frank's position is, again, blatant revisionism that is only being peddled by biased sites like www.socialist.net. Which is barely...

I'm not happy with out quickly Obama backpedaled away from this. It smacks of asshatery. We've been supporting the current regime for 30+ years. Until last week we weren't trying to exert any pressure for him to change. And now, all of a sudden. It makes other governments in the area think twice abo...

This is the most ludicrous argument I've seen on here in a while. I still fail to see why werewolves mating with real wolves is rape, unless they're doing it in Cronos form. In Lupus form, they're wolves too. Heck, in the original mythology, werewolves are wolves that gained the ability to change in...

There's a big big difference between data mining an adventure for 'ideas' and running a 'module'. And it's not elitist. A GM who only runs modules, and doesn't let you do anything not covered in the module isn't really a good GM. A Gm that uses Harlequin's Trilogy to come up with a plot of his own.....

Most GM's worth their name rarely use pre-made adventures. Unless the adventure is something really special and fun. Temple of Elemental Evil comes to mind. I've run countless games of ED, an I never used the premade adventures, except as more background info, and I once had an NPC who relayed the e...

Missions are a cute thing, but not that important. MANY of us build our own missions, worlds, without using 'canned adventure modules' This has been true since the beginning of RPGS. So, expecting amazing grace from a Missions is silly. It's a Module, that's going to sell maybe 1/5th as much at best...
