Re: Tome of Extremes?
I think the Tome of Fiends is pretty much Frank/K's take on the evil side of things. I know they're planning to write a Tome of Virtue, but it's slated for last, so I expect they'll finish sometime when I'm in the nursing home.

Re: Bulls Eye! The Master Thrower
Shivering touch automatically kills dragons and other big things, but it's "only" 3d6 (10.5 avg.) Dex damage so there are a fair number of monsters it can't expect to take out in one hit; it also offers SR. There's only a handful of monsters ever published that don't have immunity to abil...

Re: Bulls Eye! The Master Thrower
Faster subtle cut still breaks the game: a 10th-level character with TWF, haste , and that ability gets 5 attacks, so expects to deal 25 Dex damage per round with touch attacks, (so they always hit), possibly with touch attacks that deny Dex (so against AC 10 + deflection boni in most cases). 25 Dex...

Re: 11th level wizard tactics?
A 7th-level wizard would probably get mobbed by 7 7th-level warriors , much less real PC classes. No matter what you do at 7th level, when the PCs have 9 tries against it, chances are at least one or two of them will beat it and then have the chance to apply the beatdown, which, because you're a wiz...

I'm pretty sure that unless I'm remembering wrong, a classical vacuum is a perfect insulator, i.e., it won't conduct electricity at all. Air is also a very good insulator.

Re: Help a soon-to-be-DM!
The RoW grappling rules are a big improvement on the core grappling rules. Using the Edge rules will save all of the meleers feats and make BAB more meaningful; it won't balance the game, but it might make meleers feel less useless.

Deep halfling is in the MM. Whisper gnomes are from Races of Stone, but I'm pretty sure the race is in the excerpt on WotC's website.[br][br]Elves' biggest liability for stealth builds is a lack of darkvision. Everything in D&D has darkvision, so if you're trying to sneak around with a light sou...

The obvious is deep halfling rogue. Simple, reasonably effective, with some growth potential in the later phases of the game if that's relevant.

Re: More homebrew feats
My best guess at reading Frank and K's intentions is that there's no need to have scaling armor and shield proficiency feats: the shields and armors themselves grant scaling abilities, specifically to allow the standard armor/shield proficiency feats to work. That said, there's probably room for a s...

The reason sunder doesn't get used much is twofold. First, a lot of monsters don't have weapons, or the weapons they have don't matter (casters). Second, players are greedy.[br][br]Sundering weapons is actually easier than disarming weapons, in most cases. (There tend to be more ways to increase dis...

Re: Cheradenine
I think the reason a nightwalker doesn't keep up with other PCs at that level is that you're past the point where the game is playable. The CR tables become useless at high levels: only monsters with their own casting can keep up with action-novaing, contingency-buffed, instant-death-throwing caster...
