Well, I'm also not the greatest with monsters, but this seems pretty cool. I prefer it being CR 5 and a challenge over being CR 8 and a total walk in the park (though sometimes I play with ogre mages who skill have polymorph available... hee hee). The one thing that bothers me is the loss of SR. I m...

The Blighter, Revamped

NOTE: This PrC was made with the intent of not being much stronger than the Druid already. You can't take any wildshaping feats, because you're no longer using wildshape, and your spell list is weaker, but there are some added goodies (mostly for flavor or homage to the old class), and you do a fai...

Well, it was more of a remark of amusement, since the account was obviously created for the simple purpose of making the comment. It was like trolledbot trolling, not dumb trolling.

I like the combat style that we have for Pkmn, where everybody picks an ability to use (some pokemon power), and then everyone moves (low initiative to high initiative), and THEN people reveal their cards.

Have any of you guys looked through all the rules? It seems like there are a lot of balance issues, but it's introducing me to a variety of new concepts. I'm sure the idea has been played out in some game before, but I like the idea of picking a race AND a special template-thing.

Well, if you have some psionics/mind-control stuff that you want to play with, you could postulate that people with psychic powers project their psyche into a mindless creature. So you could have groups of people who make a living off of meditating to control 3 giant wasps.

Zherog, is there a way to check the IP addresses of the Red_Mage, Books, Darwinism, etc.? There was a scandal-thing on GITP where one guy had a bunch of accounts and did some trolling--this could be similar.

Is there any way to check?

Well, it just seems to provide for an all-or-nothing approach, so instead of seeing 1 bugbear with a bad roll, you see all 15 with a bad roll.

Hummm a couple things: 1. I like the stealth teamwork thing, but wouldn't scouts give each other bonuses or something? Also, it'd be nice if the distance between the scouts was larger--30 feet just seems a little low. 2. The word destealthing is confusing. I saw it as "de-steal-thing"... a...

My apologies, Kaelik. I was too busy entertaining the notion that the author of Jester just MIGHT have pulled something from Pathfinder... of course, that was all in vain.

Well, teleport trap is a spell in Pathfinder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spell ... eport-trap)... but that kind of association with Pathfinder without any explanation doesn't make sense.

Anyways, I looked through the PHB II. The T's start at thunder shield, so it's not there either.

Hey, I'm trying to conceptualize CAN, and I'm a little confused (conflicting messages in the linked threads) about how it works. Is it as follows? You have 2 CANs, offensive and defensive. These can be improved or weakened if you have good/bad positioning (higher ground, surprised, etc.). They are a...

I'm a little confused about how this works. Does it mean that, by benchmark 5, you can be a Druid 5/Cleric 5/Bard 5/Shaman 5/Mage 1?

Also, could you explain slots a little more thoroughly? They confuse me...

Boosting the attributes

This is a pretty basic question. Say that I have a level 1 character and I want to optimize for the highest base stats possible (it doesn't matter if I'm not as effective of a character, I just want high Strength/Dexterity/Constitution/etc). What is the most efficient way, in and out of Tome, for me...

There's a system called Hi/Lo Heroes (free pdf on Scribd) which has you assign your attributes (there were 6 of them) to "High" or "Low" values. When it comes time to make a check, you roll 2d6, and take the high one if your stat is "High", or the low one if your stat i...
