Re: Cheese Updates, 3.5
A quick question, most likely dumb, but here goes . . .
If I had a mounted dwarven defender, could he use defensive stance while his mount was moving? Or is that just cheating?
Asking before I actually do it in an upcoming adventure.

Re: Oberoni Vs. The Goldfish
Hell, it still might even be overpowered for 9th level, and still be weaker than shapechange, since giving a value to something automatically makes it worth less than infinity.

Generally, if I have to change rules mid-game, I do so after consulting the players, and we run a test game.
If we don't like it, we go back after one session. No harm done.

I only thought it was broken because of their dominate person at will, and failing a save on 1, no matter what. That's much worse.[br][br]I think I better fix that then, because there's a Vampire in the current adventure, and I'd like it to, you know, be possible to win. I don't have qualms about ma...

Alright, how about unhallow/hallow?
I can easily see all the rest of those, but I'm wondering about hallow/unhallow, as I'm collecting all the hideously broken things and attempting to fix them, I'd like to know any that I've missed.

Summoning a wastrlith has a proviso, though.[br][br]They're better than everything else in summon monster 9 by a long shot, but it is supposedly balanced by the fact that the wastrilith can make an opposed wisdom check with the caster, if the wastrilith wins, it breaks summoning, and attacks the cas...

Then you lose absolutely nothing.
the wolf's trip ability does not allow the other thing to trip you, even if you fail.
But you might get lucky and trip it, but if not, you don't really lose out on anything by trying.

Strange, my players do the exact same thing when they run into gnomes.
My players hate illusions in general, and don't rect well to them at all. Usually when they sucessfully disbeleive something, someone jumps up in an attempt to strike me.

I'm still wondering why this druid took IUS in the first place, he doesn't attack unarmed in any of the three routines listed.[br][br]Besides, core rules still allow various shapechange cheese, and free karma beads, all 3.5 core. The combo that Ess made up is simply effective, not cheesey, by my sta...

I would allow focus items if they were bought by someone else.
Also, I would allow an ascetic wizard to have a spellbook.
