Of course, it also has things such as:[br][br] In the previous version of the D&D game, having levels in a prestige class never caused you to pay the experience penalty for being a multiclass character without uneven class levels. (The prestige class levels didn’t count when checking to see if y...

faq?

[br]I was browsing through the FAQ at some point, and came across this quote. Obviously the FAQ is not errata, but how does it stand up in this community? Re: Experimental Tome game

The main problem with monsters lately is that the save DCs on their attacks are too low. I mean, DC 28 on a CR 11 colossal spider is good, but pretty much all of us have saves of +10 to +20. Anything at DC 20 is mostly irrelevant. That's the biggest oddity in the game I've found so far.

It should be noted the Hill Giant Monk is coming out approximately where a RoW Hill Giant would, except he's got monk levels rather than Fighter levels. And as far as I can tell that's ok. [br][br]Except that he's getting class features and big bonuses. You don't get "fighter levels", you...

Re: Help a soon-to-be-DM!

Your new formula is equivalent to 3*(modifier)-1.

Which is pretty similar to rolling with a d6 instead of a d20, at least for opposed rolls.

Re: More Wish Economy

Yeah, I guess we could adjust pricing or something instead of the lame-ass 10-pack rule. But that means single use spells will cost 10x as much. And that sounds really expensive.

More Wish Economy

The wish economy is kinda weird. For instance, you can buy only +2 stat items, but you could also have a pile of scrolls of something's attribute, which would give you a +4 all day.[br][br]Similarly, spell slots are only useful for having high save DCs. If you need duration or to beat SR, better to ...

Re: Cheradenine

It's really the permanent duration that breaks the spell. If you were limited by your number of 4th or higher slots, in, say, a day, then you'd probably find better uses for them.[br][br]Unfortunately, the source text has permanent polymorphing, which seems to be at odds with a good game. Also, 2nd ...

Re: "Design & Development: Magic Item Compendium"

I have no idea how runestaves actually work, but presumably the argument goes "each time you emulate a class feature, it resets" or something like that. But I really have no idea.

I mean, can you pass a runestaff to someone else and have them use 3/day if you've already used yours?

Yeah, spell level/caster level. Also, 1/20 is affordable, but no one makes them. You'll have to wish for them.

So, I'm kinda curious how all this works out. I mean, can you really buy scrolls of planar binding?[br][br]So, under the current rules, anyone with access to the wish economy can just wish for scrolls of 6th level or higher, right? So, there is never a reason to actually spend XP to create such a sc...

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what the thief acrobat is supposed to do that isn't essentially "be a rogue, but not quite". I guess they get a bunch of random stuff, and they're awesome at skills (which don't really *make* a character in D&D, though maybe those [Skill] feats will help).[br][...

Re: Toward a New Version of Polymorph

This reasoning gave us LA, though. [br][br]I do not follow. While monsters go 50/50 on average with other monsters of the same CR, but you won't turn into an average member, you get to choose *at the time of the casting*, so you're trading raw power for situational power. 4: You gain followers. Your leadership score is your equal to your bonus on Intimidate checks. [br][br]Are you sure you want the leadership feats to scale by bonus, rather than ranks? I mean, with 4 ranks and a +4 at first level, you could get 6 CR 1/2 followers, 3 CR 1 "followers", and 1...

Fireball at level 1 isn't a problem. The damage scales, so it'll never be a real problem. 1d6 ref 1/2 at first level is worth practically nothing. And as a conduit, you can do it forever at higher levels, and it's still not a problem given how hitpoints scale.[br][br]As for bard casting, if you use ...

Maybe I'm wrong (or optimistic), but I'm guessing that rogue will be rewritten and get a [Skill] Feat every time they level and don't get more sneak attack.
