Re: Non-corporeal characters...?
I am not sure if having certain monsters being unable to hurt an incorporal character is that much of a problem, especially at low levels. If a tiger can't attack the party ghost, it still has an average of three more party members to attack. So really the ghost's invlunerability does not come into ...

Re: Stunting and Shadowrun
My group is really unhappy with the way edge works in Shadowrun 4. For one thing we don't think that mooks should have it. Why even have intiative modifiers if everything you fight is spending edge to go first anyway? We also found that it worked best when you used it when you are not supposed to. I...

[br] 1) Find a Gold Faction Sidereal who A) knows Sidereal Martial Arts and B) is a hot girl. [br][br]If your just jumping in the sack with someone to learn their awesome martial arts skillz, wouldn't it better to look for an ugly chick? I mean, if she's hideous she would be so glad for the attentio...

[br] Interestingly, that's the catch-- only creatures who will want to do things like that already are eligible for the DC reduction.[br] [br][br]This is sort of a pet peeve of mine actually. You can have the diplomacy check there, but ultimately what you are really doing is making another inteligen...

Re: Book of 9 swords review
[br] Honestly they should just say that. I mean, with the speed they produce material, nobody can really expect it all to work perfectly together. Really, I'm happy if the material works standalone wtih core. You can't expect all the extra splatbooks to not go to crazytown when combined, simply beca...

Re: Another Look: "Prodigious" Skill Uses
I have not really had a great chance to look at this either. I would really have to play test it know how it works, but here are some initial impressions.[br][br] Anyway. The system change is to cut down skill bonus types to basically three-- Racial, Synergy, and Enhancement-- and keep them from sta...

Re: Does Caster > Fighter in Other systems?
I hate to bring this up as an example of balance, but the mages in Rifts never seemed to be all that hot. Of course, in Rifts you could have the most powerful power armor in the whole system at level one.

[br] For that matter, is Shadowrun really even as lethal as D&D? It's been five or six years since I actually played in a Shadowrun game and I was never very expert at it, but memory records a lot less in the way of "blow one roll on a high-variance RNG and you die" effects than D&...

I like them, but they are underpowered. Especially since you can get yourself a rod that will do it three times a day.

Re: Don't give me that 'It fits my character'! Crap
If you have something worse than the light weapon using, dual wielding disarm-based monk I used to play with, that would be pretty interesting.
