All the rules you're mentionning are known bad rules of SR4A. Chase are better handled "on the fly" with a lot of GM fiat. Scatter was better in SR4. My house rule for grenades is that you always target a fixed location. It scatter from this location, and each hit from the dodge test push ...

While there are some similarities between Kult and Unknown Armies, they are pretty different games. In itself Kult is a good game, but you have to play it with the right people.

You can have new rules specific for wargear (vehicles and big guns). That's what they had in SR3 with Naval damage codes and things like that. This way you don't change the rules people have been using during five years for assault rifles and body armor just because they might want to have a frigate...

In Nomine is a joke. The French game is based on is "In Nomine Satanis - Magnas Veritas" (often called INS - MV). One side is In Nomine Satanis (playing devils), the other Magnas Veritas (playing angels). This is not a serious game. It's completely tongue-in-cheek and politically incorrect...

if you have a shitty combat minigame you have at its core a shitty game. I agree that a game with a bad combat minigame is worse than the same game with a good combat minigame. I agree that even if combat is not important/not common, your game will be better if you have a good combat minigame. But ...

Some of them might have a specific code of conduct, but for most of them they don't have more code than anyone else, especially in the criminal world. For example, many runners will carry out their missions, even if someone else is paying them twice the price to stop. It's not because there is a cod...

Because democracy is about power sharing. People having "unjust" power warrants taking arms against them in social contract theory. Taking arms against unjust power isn't power sharing. Social contract theory isn't democracy. Making a non pareto improving change isn't pareto-efficient. Th...

We've had many democracy supporting groups who took power in a completely non-democratic way in order to have a "better democracy". Why can't we have a pareto-efficiency supporting group wanting to change resource allocations in a non-pareto efficient way in order to have a "better pa...

Lots of things are Pareto-efficient that are morally reprehensible. Yes. Pareto-efficiency is just supposed to make sure that all resources are used in a way that maximizes their output. Pareto-efficient economic policies are simply any policies which increase GDP without taking a single dime away ...

Pareto optimization by definition means that you don't take anything away from the people who are already "haves". So if your position is that Megacorps shouldn't exist, you can't espouse Pareto optimization without being a mouth breathing sub-human. I think you don't understand correctly...

The neo-A ideology was pretty well described in one of the neo-A guidebok (either to North America or to Real Life), but I think it passed over the head of most people, including many writers, including some who wrote other parts of that book. The ideology makes complete sense in a cyberpunk setting...

UPDATE

Updated with the Shadow Media chapter (and probably a few things here and there in the other chapters).
I'm not very satisfied with this chapter so don't hesitate to give me your inputs.

I guess it'll be closer to "click the hack button, click the camera/drone/door you want to hack, see the result".

That's not necessarily a bad idea. At the end of a campaign where a lot can happen and the PC can go completely off the rails, it's better to have a complete explanation of what's going on, who does/wants/knows what and what they can do, give a few examples of things that can happen and let the GM a...
