I shrug.
If I was actually playing a Dryad, I'd argue that not letting them recharge PP from planting themselves like a tree and getting rained on naturally is some serious dickery.
It's clear that you don't agree, though, so I'm going to avoid the issue entirely.

That was the logic I was working on, yeah. The 'big deal' issue here is a question of methodology. If random mortal henchmen are capable of bringing you back from the dead, it is totally a reasonable and sensible thing to do to ensure that you've got lots of them all over the place, ready to enact s...

*sigh* There was a reason why I asked. I asked because it's much more convenient to find out 'fuck you, your character concept is invalid' before the game starts then after it. Since your response actually was 'fuck you, your character concept is invalid', I obviously won't be playing it. Maybe I'll...

Ahem: Characters in horror die from time to time. Sometimes a character will end up dying several times, because After Sundown posits ghastly life after death and even has magical ways to restore life to the living. When a character dies, all of their powers that cost Power Points to activate or whi...

What, really? You mean I actually can't regain PP by having my minions hurt themselves, unless I am explicitly mind-controlling them to do so? If so, then that actually puts Baali in the absolute worst position of all supernatural types regarding post-mortem powergains, since every single one of the...

Ick. On both counts. My intention, so far as Assets are concerned, was to basically have large numbers of essentially disposable extras, some of which would be capable of performing actions that would rez me after death. Mind control was intended to be a flavour for that, the idea being that, over t...

Need to clarify some mechanics... Firstly, mind control effects wear off on the death of the user, unless they can do Elder-level mind control. I've got a host of followers explicitly described as mindslaves, so I just wanted to clarify that they won't all immediately desert me the first time I die;...

I would prefer something that just said: 6(10) Or something. No problem; format changed. That said, plot-hook-wise, Diego is under the impression that he already has pretty much everything he needs out of life. He's immortal, and has the power to control minds, so he's pretty much always surrounded...

And now that we're talking methodology instead of morality, I agree; torture is usually not terribly useful (and hence, not absolutely necessary). If you genuinely do not know your enemy's plans, you can't tell if the responses you get when torturing one of their agents are the truth or just somethi...

Yes, social engineering is a thing. And you suck balls at it, Lago, because you are unwilling to concede that most of your audience is, at worst, only slightly less intelligent than you are, and anything which is immediately obvious as propaganda to you is also immediately obvious as propaganda to ...

The best examples of this are 'opposing generals'. Rommel and Lee are well-respected even by their opponents because they were capable commanders, even if they were on the wrong side. It was also very convenient for the allies to paint Rommel as some sort of super-general. Most of forces that Romme...

Then dont choose an idol as enemy but as an friend. What I read about 13 Age suggest it costs the same. Right if you want Trouble with an idol it costs you points you could spend to buy an friendly relatetionship with an idol. But I got the impression its only an slightly different flavor for the s...

People disagree that torture is ok even if it saves lives. The end does not justify the means. Disagree strongly. There are always ends important enough to justify any means. Torture is kinda bad, sure... but death is worse. If it's absolutely necessary to torture someone to save lives, you torture...

A thought of concern: Could a Baali in combat recharge power points. i.e. create a power loop of using power points to cause pain, then regaining power through this. I'm going to rule, no, it must be a preplanned ritual, but given vampires can feed during combat, would this even be an issue? Feedin...

Quick clarification, here... when a character is dead, their power schedule doesn't change, a big deal if the corpse in question has Restoration. Lunar types have it easy, they basically just come back on their own. Vampires and Troglodytes are fairly easy; you just feed blood or flesh to the corpse...

I live in Canada, too; the liability issue's the same, though there's less bullshit fees, and the legal system is somewhat less insane. The core situation is still the same, though; if you don't incorporate, you are technically vulnerable to various sorts of bullshit. Incorporating isn't a magic shi...

IANAL, but the main liability issue you're looking at would probably be payment of fees to anyone you're dealing with on the project; probably writers, artists, and the publisher. If you incorporate, then only monies that are specifically part of the corporate funds are up for grabs. If you don't, t...

Yeah, really. Fortunately, there's an easy way around that; a one-point destiny gives you access to whatever sorceries you want, so there's no need to be tied to a cult. That's not actually why I took my book (I did that so I could have an easy way to throw Ritual Magic at any problem for which Ritu...

Well, if you're taking orders from other supernaturals, that's not necessarily an issue... it's mortal businessmen that cause you problems. Again, though... Black Hand. You seemed to be putting a great deal of thought into how best to ambush and capture Baali; if you can do that, you can murder them...

The Oracles don't seem especially dubious to me... they really are the only unambiguously good organization in the setting. They could, of course, be more good then they are, but that doesn't detract that they remain the most good organization in existence. Not necessarily Sailor Moon per se, but de...
