Re: Tieflings with a lvl of True Fiend: can they gain mental

Here we come to the point of the issue. If you're immortal, then if you've got any sense at all, you're going to immediately book it to a plane where time passes at the rate of 1 year per material plane round. Then you're going to stay there for like, an hour or so. And come back really ancient and ...

Heh, I've seen that one before... apparently, a Cleric of a good-aligned deity counts as a good-aligned weapon, and thus penetrates the damage reduction of evil creatures. Of course, you need some way to get around the improvised weapon penalties; I seem to remember something about special magical g...

Re: Anger with Core Colieseum

I played in something like this at one time, but it was face-to-face, ECL 10. I played a Gray Elf Assassin, and maxed out my Int. I killed everyone with Deep Slumber, because nobody (not even the maxed-Wis Druid) could save against it. I won $25 from it too, which was sweet.

Yeah, but you also get a fighting style, which works just as well for a Fighter as it does for a Monk.

Re: Tieflings with a lvl of True Fiend: can they gain mental

I note that we should focus the discussion, here. Are we talking "Is this possible, under the current rules as written?", "Should this be possible, considering the spirit of the rules?", or "What do you think should happen under these circumstances, regardless of what the ru...

Well, that's the trick.

The Theif-Acrobat is a better Rogue, while the Jester is a Bard-ish type. The two don't directly compare.

These are interesting counters, but in practice, how many of you actually do this, in play, on a regular basis?

Not necessarily.[br][br]For example, you have a stupid Wizard who has allowed a Fighter to close on him. Re: What is the wish economy?

The basis of the wish economy is that, since Wish can make items that are *so* valuable, then any item worth less then *so* is a cheap item, suitable for acquiring great heaping piles of and perhaps selling for gold... while an item worth more then *so* is an expensive item, worth nothing less then ...

Re: Fixing Sunder

The trick about disarming is, your foe can often recover the disarmed weapon, so instead of depriving him of it, you're really just foe-juggling (and probably forcing an AoO as he bends over to pick the thing up, which you can use to disarm him again, if you're clever).[br][br]When you sunder, on th...

This means that the older Dragons really CAN sleep on gigantic piles of gold... and it doesn't even matter, because gold's pretty much worthless at that level.

Re: WotC: Bringing You Suck Beyond Suck

I'd step well back of the 'always casts haste' and play up the 'quickens spells', giving full caster progression and some nice abilities that synergize with rapid spellcasting.

Re: WotC: Bringing You Suck Beyond Suck

The CW version is a decent class if you're going to be sneak attacking with daggers; but the original version sucked. That's what editing is for.

Beyond that, as written, the hastomancer does indeed lose many of his abilities at 10th level, because he stops casting haste.

Ahh, the original version saved free action feint to 10th level, and gave out some extra junk in the meantime. I agree, that is worse.

Re: WotC: Bringing You Suck Beyond Suck

Eh? What's wrong with the Invisible Blade? (assuming you're referring to the CW Invisible Blade, because I'm too lazy to download yours) Aside from the vague silliness of requiring daggers, it's a solid sneak attack PRC. Free action feint is a decent way to make all your attacks sneak attacks (there...

Actually, the Ring-Gate-Rod-Loop-Gear method wouldn't work too well; when it's just the rod by itself, it works great, as the rod is dropping through air, only pulling it's own weight downwards with gravity.
