Re: Why Evil Loses
You bring up good points, but I have some of my own (dun dun DUN!!!)[br][br]You basically posit that short-sighted societies will be parasitical/evil, and but societies that take on the long-view have mutually beneficial/good societies that are generally more robust than evil societies.[br][br]D&...

Re: Frank and K material PDF
Re-reading the stuff (and such good stuff it is), I was wondering, would it be on par with Frank Feats to just strip off the 'armor' aspect of a number of those armors and just make it a feat. [br][br]For Example, instead of Winter Clothing, we have:[br][br]Cold Tolerant [Skill: Survival][br]4: You ...

Re: Dumbass Polymorph
So if you poly into something that can poly on it's own, then, otherwise you're stuck for the duration. Reminds me of when I played Neverwinter Nights and shapechanged into a big red dragon. Then realized the boss was in the next room, and had to take something like a 10 minute break for the shapech...

Re: Imbued Spell summons options
Well, as long as you use your summon monster spell to summon good monsters, then that particular clause doesn't matter, as Magic Circle against Evil prevents non-good summons from entering. Just choose the appropriate aligned critter or appropriate magic circle and you're good.

Re: Quick fix for alignment trouble
I've pretty much ditched the alignment system because it's a wierd mix of objective and subjective guidelines.[br][br]On one hand, Being Good is a quantifiable quality. You can pop off a Detect Good and tell if you're just a little good, or alot good. On the other hand, being good is about respectin...

Mages do it with bat guano and tiny bells.
Geomancers do it in 'special places'

Re: Laptops at the Gaming Table
If everyone has laptops, you can run a combo IM and face-to-face game that lets you do lots of neat things. No more having to hand out blank notes to everyone but one just to hide that you're telling someone something.
Re: Naruto...
Yeah, it is a very, very different show. If you want to see something crazy, check out the german dub on youtube. They not only cut out all blood entriely, but they cut out blades as well. Zabuza (first story arc, gigantic sword) looks like he's menacing people with a chair leg.
Re: Naruto...
ugh, ranma 1/2 was decent to start with, as a comedy, but then more and more assholish characters got more and more screen time. The 'master' who originally trained ranma and his dad (happosi, or something) was so incredibly annoying that I would skip past episodes that featured him, which was, unfo...

I've got an idea about a society that consists of a necromantic intelligence, I think I'll have to use this as a template to fill in the detail.

Re: Not related to P&P gaming: Problems with MMO Gaming
Well, Planetside has a massive 3-way territory grab, and it does sometimes get rather one-sided. That's why the world 'resets' every day with the server. Of course, the only times it gets really one-sided is when one faction has basically zero showing (which is a disadvantage of all PC combat). The ...

Re: Not related to P&P gaming: Problems with MMO Gaming
My biggest problem with all the MMOs I've played is that as you level up, you get weaker, at least, that's the perception I get.[br][br]Take FFXI for example: At first level, you can kill stuff that's even 4 levels higher than you, by 10th level, you pretty much have to team up to kill even-level mo...

Not only that, but in several of the examples given, the Lesser crystal has abilities that the Greater version doesn't have.[br]For example, the Least Arrow Deflection crystal gives you +2 AC vs ranged attacks, the Lesser one gives +5 AC vs range attacks, and the Greater one gives you +2 AC vs range...
Re: Naruto...
Just because something is predictable, that doesn't make it not entertaining. Look at the Scary Movie line and the recent Epic Movie. Not only is it predictable, you've probably already seen what it's based on! The fact that they use those cliches on purpose has no bearing on the entertainment value...

Re: Races of War
That wouldn't work if you wanted some hot nucleus on nucleus fusion action going. I think Craft (relativity) would work, since that covers both mass and energy.
