So a post of mine got modded over at Paizo's forum. Honestly, it probably should have been just for redundancy - I was bitching a bit over the numerous "let's fuck the monk more" rulings of the last year, and I get that Paizo probably gets hundreds of those comments per month. But it was m...

And I finally managed to find the time to do my turn.

Thanks for the extension, though.

I may need a 12 hour extension. I'll try to get the turn in tonight so as not to delay the game, but it's not certain I'll be able to.

If I do get it in (I definitely will have done so before Bogarus' usual time if I can make it at all tonight) I won't need extra time, but you never know.

Finally got to see C'tis' Banefire in action (at range, against province defense, but still.) Visually disappointing - I was expecting awesome explosions, not puffs of purple smoke :) Nothing wrong with the effect though, although overall it probably was more devastating to C'tis' chariots than to t...

Oh well, in that case, I guess I should break our NAP too, C'tis.

By our agreement, attack orders can be given on 25, and shall resolve on 26 at the earliest.

(Nothing personnal: you're just huge and scary :) )

I've just realized why I hated 4e and am rapidly growing to hate 5e. They're attempts by an overall talent-limited, but ego-driven, designer to pass off his fantasy heartbreakers as D&D. 4e ultimately failed, design-wise, because it completely ignored what worked in the D&D experience and ju...

Sorry, missed that one a while back.

Software development is really, really expensive. If it isn't a labor of love, expect to spend multiple thousands of dollars for the most basic kind of gaming software.

Well, first, obviously they're underwhelming compared to the full casters' almighty +1 to spellcasting level. And they're not really intended to give utility powers either, they're just combat improvements. That said, the Rage Powers in particular are interesting, mostly because there's a bunch of t...

That helps a lot, actually. You should still check out the relevant provincial rules, but it's pretty easy (and cheap) to incorporate a federal corporation if you don't want to pay a lawyer. http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/cd-dgc.nsf/eng/cs03988.html Now, there might be better options in the relevant p...

Incorporating is really about two things: 1-Limiting liability (basically, short of outright fraud, nobody will be able to sue you personnally for the acts of your corporation - in other words, the most you stand to lose, cash-wise, is what you invested in the corporation and what the corporation cr...

This feels relevant to the discussion. http://www.wizards.com/DnD/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4spot/20090313 Heinsoo on stuff. Apparently there were condition tracks, roll your backstory, and weapon vs armor stuff. Hmm. I'm surprised with the bit where he claims that there was a group of designers who wante...

A few more comments: 1) Casting times: doesn't hinder non-combat at all. In combat, wizards went slightly slower than everyone else. It's kind of a big deal if they get attacked, but if a wizard is getting attacked he's pretty much going to explode. Fun fact - in 2nd ed. - if you were using casting ...

First - I'm not entirely convinced that *everyone* wants a bunch of options. The people who are involved in RPG message boards? Sure. Me personnally? You bet! But there's a bunch of people who just like the convenience of "I gained a level, here's my HP roll, I bump up all of my skills by 1, an...

Gotcha - so a rollback means 1-hurt feelings, and 2-complete game destruction. So... exactly like D&D Next, then? :) Thanks for taking the risk on a rollback. Hopefully, I'll make good use of it to become a slightly higher speedbump on somebody's road to godhood than I would have been otherwise :)

Which brings a question to mind - can we turn back time on Llamaserver and replay turn 4? (That isn't clear - what I mean is "for future reference, does Llama offers that capability?", not "I want a do-over on the turn, do you mind?") Although obviously *I* would like such a do-o...

Apparently the game hosted despite the delay I asked for - I staled because of that.

Man, this is rapidly turning into an epic fail on my side.

EDIT: To be clear, Mister Sinister did set up the delay he said he did. I blaming llamaserver, not MS.

And I'm not about to ragequit, either.

Yeah, rub it in, comrade. We'll see what happens when your Pink Army meets Operation Furry Buzzsaw! :)

(Man, I'm pissed. I don't care all that much for winning the game, but I don't want to be inconsequential and ignored for most of the game. I don't want to miss the learning opportunities... )

Bah - it's just wankery. The online RPGing community is made up of mostly DMs who like to pretend that they're great storycrafters. I was one of them too - it's just that with a bit of maturity you realize that 1-your stories aren't that great, they're just passably good ideas held together by clich...

One thing we can say about Thompson - he's better at explaining the goals than Mearls is. I'm not sure I agree about the goals, but at least it's clearer what they're trying to accomplish (i.e. make it so Mearls' Fireball-throwing DMPC can go back to being better than his group's PCs.)

Hmm. Thought there would be a simple "import the map" function in the Dom3 menu (shows how much of a noob I am - I still expect user-friendliness from Dom3. :) )

Any quick tutorials out there?

Also - do I need to supply an email address or something?
