Yes, but even against higher level dragons, the wizard still has a shot at defeating it with what's written on his character sheet. Also, looking at 3E, as you gain levels, the fighter does fall behind in what he can handle on his own, so suddenly even level-appropriate monsters end up out of reach...

What about only taking partially debilitating damage? This is why I'm going for layers of wounds, for visceral attention to detail. A shot to the arm would hinder it, but maybe not completely cripple it. Likely a second shot will, or even do worse, or maybe nothing but sting a little. Sweet mercifu...

I think western audiences would accept a mundane fighting man high level antics if we framed them in Action Hero parameters. Which means he has to have reality altering powers like "hits one in a million shots" and "villain behaves like an idiot" written in his sheet. Because th...

Your system is completely unworkable. That level of complexity is means that it's going to take 10-20 minutes minimum to figure out what happens when a character is hit once. That's going to make your game unplayable. I may be new at designing but even I know that adding that many layers of complexi...

Anyone taken a look at the Mythic Rules thing they are planning now? I think they dropped a preview on some blog. Also, I find if funny how so many people in the Paizil forums think that people should practically worship MCs*, and that the MC can never, EVER be wrong about anything. *=Even the shit...

The Knight that runs into the cave with the Dragon and kills him. That's what they want, but they don't want him to be something they couldn't get to with hard work and dedication. This is not possible. Not the way people want, what they want doesn't work. That's basically the point of this thread....

. Fighters are only elite compared to NPC warriors and are only all-encompassing in the same sense MTPers think a blank character sheet means your character actually has limitless possibilities and can paint with all the colors of the wind 'n' shit. It's a really dumb class name and I don't really ...

In D&D there is combat. In D&D combat you win or you die. If the party dies because you charater is being dead weight then you are making the game less fun for the other players i.e. you are being an asshole. This is actually incorrect - you're being bad at the game, not willfully inconside...
