Shadoverse Burn in general isn't that awe inspiring but Bloodcraft get's Razory Claw which is 2 mana for 3 to any target. Imp lancer and Blood Wolf can also be seen a psudo burn spells in that they come down and then can immediately go face. Along with generic cards like Demonic Strike and Dance wit...

You play Aggro Blood like Sligh/Red Deck Wins. Play a bunch of folowers and go face and then finish theme of with burn. The list I run is 3x Ambling Wraith 3x Crusebrand Vampire 3x Blood Wolf 3x Vania Vampire Princess 3x Yurius, Levin Duke 3x Goblin Mage 3x Veight, Vampire Noble 1x Wind God 3x Imp L...

So I got all the cards to the competitive build of D-Shift a couple days ago and it's been great. I think it might be the thing to fill the hole in my life left by the lack of viability of storm in modern. There's something wonderful about playing a deck that's 40% cantrips by weight. They way your ...

I think the 3.0 version had no range limit and it was another casualty of the 3.5 pointlessly fucking with shit.

Mark another one down for the elven tights train. I signed up around Friday and it's been pretty cool. It might even replace Magic online as what I do with my life. As the Shrike said Forestcraft feels very good to play especially coming into it as a long time storm player. But unlike a MtG storm de...

Seriously? Shouldn't "somehow find up and cast five specific cards" be enough of a hurdle on it's own. Like fuck Yu-gi-oh let's you pop off if you have the five Exodia pieces in your hand with no fuss.

I'm not the person who coined those terms , but they seem to draw a distinction between old-style control decks that played 2-4 cards like Rainbow Efreet, Hammer of Bogardon, or Firemane Angel as a concession to them having to win somehow as opposed to decks like Jushi Blue or Solar Flare that ran 5...

I don't think Midrange-Control is a thing. Like, at all. I don't trust any chart that puts Mid-range control as a co-equal spot on the meta, because it's not a separate entity. ... Aggro-Control is of course a thing, but people usually call it "Tempo" these days. "Hybrid Control"...

I'm not sold on ever color needing a dedicated aggro deck and especially not sold on milling or fucking poison as said aggro decks. Colors need to occupy more than one space on the meta wheel but by no means must the occupy all spaces. http://s3.gatheringmagic.com/uploads/2012/04/09/CC_1.jpg For ins...

Ultimately it is a problem when one of the factions is "Time and Space" (which is "everything that actually exists") and another faction is "Mind" (which is a thing that doesn't actually exist). You get the Mage: the Ascension problem where it's trivial to justify new ...

The problem with many such color-wheel systems is that they end up with a team that is Blue/Sorcery - team game mechanics! - which is conceptually overpowered, even if you manage to hammer them down to the point that team "is a big guy" is comparable to team "is able to manipulate ti...

The reason I brought this up was I was kicking around a sort of alternate color wheel. Something like. Void (Red) the color of decay and destruction. Void gets the highest density of straight up destruction effects, under-costed creatures with drawbacks, discard and effects that trade one resource f...

Alternate MtG Style Color Wheels

There are a vast number of MtG knockoff games out in the just rip off MtGs WUBRG color wheel verbatim. This boggles my mind because WUBRG isn't nearly that good. White is strategically schizophrenic. Blue does way to damn much and monopolizes on aspects of the game that should public domain. Black a...

Glare is nearly Opposition, which is in turn insanely broken. Obviously you can rush the field before it happens, you can burn them out, and you can sweep the field. But a pile of mid range creatures just can't do anything at all against something like that. Opposition is an entirely different sort...
