This statement is about as meaningful as "backwards compatible with everything that (according to your, the consumer's, opinion) is good and wholesome". 1E already had a lot of outright contradictions. If you take just 1E Core, Storyteller's Companion, Scavenger Sons, Creatures of the Wil...

It should be noted, that's "less than two months" of four encounters per day, every day. This has never happened ever in my D&D experience. Even the fastest-paced campaign I've ever been in took about a year of game time to go from 1 to 20.

Not an Exalted rep. Arguably a Stockholm syndrome victim, if by that you mean "someone who wants Exalted 3e to be good and isn't totally cynical about it", but not a KS backer. Either way, less than thrilled that you think anyone who's willing to give this a chance is either astroturfing o...

Well, the V20 PDF costs $29.99 at DTRPG. Couldn't find many other core rules, WoTC for instance only sells PDFs of splatbooks, but those are in the region of $16-20, as is stuff like Blue Rose and Mutants and Masterminds. So $ 30 for a brand new, 400-page core rules PDF... it's stiff, sure, but it's...

Those are 1e PDFs, yes. But, well, it is a Kickstarter. It's more about giving fans stuff they will think is shiny than actual value for money. And for what it may be worth, Holden Shearer defends the $110 price point for hardcover + PDF thus: "Keep in mind that a full color PoD hardback of 400...

That's a totally blind choice, but since we're supposed to get through the swamp, and it's apparently on the western edge of the kingdom, shouldn't we go West if we want to go closer to the center of the swamp?

Well, obviously then the GM should either change the way the feat works, substitute another prerequisite or (lazy option) just drop that prerequisite outright.

I can't imagine any GM would keep around a feat that literally does nothing because it's been invalidated by house rules.

Nah. You can't keep people from reading a thread, just posting in it.

So fbmf could still mod the thread, he just couldn't post in it to say what he'd been doing.

Well, since it's an automated garbage disposal system, the airlock will presumably close again pretty soon. But yeah, dive for emergency stop. You can't hold on against that kind of suction.

The thing about vile BULLSHIT damage is that it isn't actually a damage type , it's just a tag . So Violate Spell is actually not heapo better than Corrupt Spell, just different, because the half of the Violated Fireball (or whatever) that's BULLSHIT damage is still bullshit fire damage that gets re...

Players rightfully see character death as the DM rejecting that player's contribution to the cooperative storytelling exercise. What the absolute fuck? This has to be the single most wrong and crazy thing someone has ever said on the Den. The whole reason we are playing a role-playing game rather t...

Plural of anecdote is not data and all that, bu...

If it's not "exploring the ocean" any more and suddenly becomes about finding your father in that ocean, then it's not a scenario any more. It's a character-driven story. It's a scenario when it's just an ocean map, some kraken lairs, and some sahaugin villages. That's the sandbox-style. ...

Most "scenarios" are just as easily character-driven stories. Your example is: "let's go explore the ocean". What! That sounds like a story. It could be a cool story! Exploration is cool. Fighting krakens is cool. You could be trying to hunt the biggest King Kraken! Or you could...
