Step Six - Choose a Base System: I've decided to use a modified SAME system for the character attributes and action resolution system. Laymen & Logistics

A subject that has bothered me for some time has been the one concerning the matters that correspond to the important things done by people that don't stab other people in the face for a living. Things like making the sword for said stabbing, or making the belt to hold the sword for said stabbing, o...

Maybe some advice on build design as I level; my limits b...

I am this close to wanting to find a way to add "Wench Points" as a resource similar to Treasure points. THIS CLOSE.

Sounds to me like Trevor's barbarian class could be switched out for Dragon, and the wenches switched out for Virgin Sacrifices, which are really the same thing...

I just had the absolutely horrible idea of cutting out Earthbender tongues and severing ear muscles, removing eyelids so that they can never bend at all.

You can totally just let the player decide which stat he wants all his class abilities to be based off of. He's only allowed to pick one, but that's gonna be his main stat for the whole class. This opens up the multi-classing potential of the whole class up.

How the fvck does that work?

That said, I've been operating under the design goals that characters must have a set number of flaws. Works out great.

An interesting conundrum. I know that when I will create a system it will be heavily influenced by other all the previous systems I've played, or have yet to play. The resulting overlap will probably upset someone, and I've heard horror stories of big corps drowning smaller companies in lawyer feed....

The method that works the best always seems to be: 1. Start with a villain. 2. Ask: what is he going to do to increase his own power/pleasure at the expense of others. 3. Then ask the players: WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT? Fetch or carry or escort quests are fine, but everyone know that they are fille...

I have a similar method to ubernoob, though I plan for a couple of weeks in advance. That said, I do have some themes that I keep revisiting, like a PbP game I just started. Most of my groups don't like my games, though, preferring store bought adventures. I don't run 4e games, so I only have a sing...
