If you have two d10 of the same color you couldn't tell which one is the d100 and which one is the d10. That's why one of the dice shows decimals and one digits. So yes, there is a fuckin' d100.

What's interesting though, is that the cure spells in d&d actually channel positive energy, so yes, you can model the fluff in a way that it fuels your mojo back up after it got reduced by lucking or dodging. At least the cure spells argument is a shitty one. HP can be physical conditon plus moj...

We're not even talking about just removing mid- and high- level play. We're talking about cutting everything out past apprentice level. Consider Willow, because K brought it up. At the beginning of the movie, Willow screws up the vanishing pig trick, and the gnomes of his village laugh at him. But ...

In Feng Shui, Robin Laws suggests that the best way to do this is to tell the player, "You are at the entrance to the dungeon. Why are you here?" and expect them to provide their own plot hooks or character motivations. I like that approach; it expects creativity of the player and brings ...

Did TGDMB ever have a "best class for first time player to D&D/PF" discussion? If so, what was it. If you're playing at low levels, I'd suggest "guy with a bow". You'd have to help him pick out feats, but for a newbie you'd have to do that with any class. My vote would be in...

How exactly does the Abyssal Specialist acf from DotU work? For example, If I ban enchantment, do I get access to enchantment spells with the descriptors/subschools I'm specialized in (chaotic, compulsion, darkness, evil, and fear) or not?

5th edition will probably do better than 4th edition based on the fact alone, that 3rd edition is now another 6 years older.

This. And the sorcerer is a nice class for intelligent items (see tome). Maybe the sorcerer should simply be reduced to NPC class status. Real PC classes need more style.

No. We are in fact saying that you can deal whatever damage your unarmed strike does with a gauntlet on. But in that case you're not using the gauntlet as a weapon. So if that gauntlet was masterwork and/or enchanted you wouldn't get any bonus for attack or damage with your unarmed strike because yo...

That's one level of monk, not 17.

While '99.9% identical' and '3.2 million bases' sound like big claims with big numbers, they're both basically meaningless. There's no benchmark being set here for what quantity of genetic material constitutes a meaningful biological distinction, and so all quantities are basically pointless. I don...

Holy fuck. It's 2014 and there are still people who believe that there are human races. The UNESCO set the fact that there is only ONE human race in stone in 1950. "How biochemically identical are we to our fellow humans? The DNA sequence in your genes is on average 99.9% identical to ANY other...

The point is though, that you don't use the gauntlet as a weapon if you inflict unarmed strike damage.

Talking of Half-Elves, I've always liked Tolkien's idea that they had to choose if they want to be elven or human.

As for these playboy poster dudes, I'd definitely go for the antlers.

Is there even sufficient evidence that a gauntlet even can be a weapon? Since "Unarmed Strike" is listed under "Unarmed Attacks", as well as the gauntlet, the table obviously isn't sufficient evidence. In the gauntlet's specifice entry it states that "a strike with [it] othe...
