Re: Magic

Urra. That was me in the above post, for the record.

And I changed it to "Weighs one and a half times normal"

Because armor that weighed twice as much would be fvcking heavy.

Magic

Magic is extremely limited. Warlocks, hexblades, and bards are the only classes with any access to magic at all.[br][br]And bards are too damn cheerful and don't have a dark magic feel. Plus I happen to dislike them intensely. So players will be... *ahem* strongly discouraged... from playing them. A...

Re: A Quick Fix for the Sorcerer

I can understand Cielingcat's point about "Why play a sorceror?"[br][br]It's about flavor, man. We want to play a caster whose blood burns [or boils or freezes or whatever] with the power of... powerful creatures. Yeah. Because we want to play full arcane casters without having the bookish...

Re: What is the wish economy?

But what's the point of having souls if a) there are no spells to power them with, b) there is no appreciable diving presence in the world [no clerics, and the paladin may or may not have spellcasting], and c) there's no way to link to the lower planes to sell them? [because there's no gate or porta...

Re: What is the wish economy?

It's back to that old saying, "Money can't buy happiness."[br][br]Honestly. If you have essentially unlimited money, why would you bother acquiring it?[br][br]The prime impetus for adventure would once more be simply that: the adventure.[br][br][br]So where does that leave mercenaries in a...

Very true.[br][br]And castles. Pay lots of peasants small amounts of gold and have them build you a castle, and the "gold is valueless" problem disappears - you're doling out large numbers of small amounts.[br][br]Become a baron! Become a duke! Hell, conquer as much as you can and call you...

Re: Crunchy Orc Fluff

Are people not getting this? Let me make this perfectly clear.

No one is playing an orc. Any kind of orc. Orcs are the enemy. They are scum.

Our mission is to eradicate them.

No one plays orcs.

Tempests do it with both hands.

Ninjas do it in the dark.

Rage Mages do it all.

Re: The "Basic," "Test-Bed," "Restricted," or "Simple" Campa

Nope. Sorry. No casters. Just doesn't work like that. We want to simplify, and having 300 [at least] pages of spells to choose from is not simple.[br][br]Yes, the revised warlock is on the list. We shall see if anyone plays it. At the planned campaig brutality level, we may go through characters rat...
