In these cases, the attacker makes a touch attack roll (either ranged or melee). [br][br]It's difficult for me to see ...

Re: Rarafin: Deep Dwarven Atheist
I'm seriously thinking of creating an Atheism domain and/or a Meditation domain for such a character, but I'm a bit stuck for ideas. [br][br]If you come up with anything for an Atheism domain, I'd be interested in knowing about it--I've been vaguely wanting to play a Cleric of Deliberately Confusin...

Re: NPC classes
Even then, you have issues at the low end, unless you can figure out what a -2 HD monster is supposed to do.[br][br]The weakest meaningfully CRed monsters in the MM are kobolds, which are CR 1/4 (and so would be CR -4 under a purely exponential system). You could just give everyone 5 racial hit dice...

Re: NPC classes
[br]No, not really, CR should go from -inf to +inf. I mean, how difficult an encounter it is is supposed to solely depend on the difference in CR.[br] [br][br]In general, this is a laudable goal (I totally approve of anything that takes D+D away from the stupid linear-at-the-bottom, exponential-at-...

Re: Challenging RoW characters in the Wish Economy?
It's entirely possible, especially since I forgot about monk's-belt cheese when I wrote that. On the other hand, I'd argue that some movement toward padded sumo is a good thing for high-level combat...

Re: Challenging RoW characters in the Wish Economy?
To first order, you can approximate the effects of the wish economy by giving a monster:[br][br]* +7 to all stats[br]* +7 AC (+2 touch) if it wears clothing, and +6/+2 otherwise[br]* +2 to hit/damage if it uses manufactured weapons, and +1 otherwise[br]* +3 to all saves[br][br]That's not that much w...

Re: Why do Efreet/Djinni want wishes?
1178906301[/unixtime]] But as a spell-like ability, it doesn't cost the Efreet any XP. [br][br]Ah, a good question:[br][br] Creatures with spell-like abilities that grant wishes may only grant wishes that have no XP cost. [br][br]Edit: Of course, that means you can still get truly awesome items by ...

Re: Star Wars: Saga Edition
The system seems to be designed with at least a vague awareness that diverging bonuses are problematic, which is good.[br][br]They got rid of the critical-threat mechanic, which is slightly bad.[br][br]The "take n swift actions to do stuff" thing is weird--I'm not sure how I feel about it....
