You're trying too hard to find things to be offended about. Sometimes a curved sword is just a curved sword.

I just keep wondering when WoTC is *finally* going to get their A-Team rules crafting team involved in fixing the D&D franchise and tying it to MtG. As it stands right now, they are just shitting all over a great piece of intellectual property that could be just as lucrative as MtG. Go figure. ...

I've never played with a roll-under system, but I'd assumed there would be modifiers based on the difficulty of the task. That they don't have those is unbelievable.

To be fair, point buy is terrible. It makes noncasters even more useless, because those characters have multiple attribute dependency. For people who think that Point Buy is too samey, I still have yet to see a solution more elegant than having everyone roll a stat array and then having the players ...

Edit: In particular, is there any D&D source which gives us a reference for just how deep the Underdark is? According to the 3e Forgotten Realms Underdark book, the lowest level "extends from 10 miles below the surface to unfathomable depths." I just glanced briefly through the site d...

Since the Gith fight Illithids a lot, it seems like they'd want mounts that are immune to mind-affecting attacks - maybe constructs for Githzerai and undead for Githyanki.

I know it varies by setting, but I think of Dwarves as being agoraphobic. I'm not sure they'd have flying mounts.

I don't really understand the Planescape hate. I was lurking when people were complaining about the Lady of Pain, but no one's forcing you to include her in your campaign - there's a lot more to the setting than her. And the Planescape cosmology is far more interesting than the banalshitboring plane...

I think the Neogi are the lamest of the featured aberrations in this book, and a big part of that is because of their appearance. Take a look at the Neogi from the Monstrorious Manual: http://www.dotd.com/mm/neogi.gif This guy's cool. He's an eel crossed with a spider, two great things that go great...

I don't think it's because it's anachronistic, but because it's unfunny lolrandom bullshit. MC Killzalot is annoying in the same way as a fishmalk from VTM.

I have a related question: why doesn't everyone with an above-average mental stat become a spellcaster? Even if you're not going to be an adventurer, the benefits should be obvious.

I think a lot of people might not realize that good anime exists. Some of the older stuff is good, but the quality of anime in general has been declining for years.

I think the plan is for players to buy the PHB, then feel forced to play the Tranny of Dragons adventures because they don't have anything else to do with it. I doubt that's going to happen, but I suspect it's WotC's intention.
