Actually, there's a perfectly good reason to commit rape. It's called consent.

That's why rape accusations are always so complicated and hard to prove; it's essentially the only crime someone might consent to be the victim of.

Seriously, as much as I hate defending dogfucking, because as someone who's not a wolf half the time it's a disturbing thought, I think you're imposing human values on a seriously nonhuman population. I'm not one for cultural relativism (or fucking dogs; I can't emphasize this enough!) but wolves ar...

endersdouble: the reason why using Holy Bash would disallow Sslash or Wwind is because otherwise people would go whole combats without using their 'At-Wills'. Winds of Fate is supposed to make players use their other powers more... and since 4E doesn't have an iterative attack mechanic, initially d...

I liked Scrubs a lot for the first five seasons, it should have ended after season six, and why the hell ABC thought it would be a good idea to continue the show with a completely new setting and completely new cast even after the episode entitled My Finale is a complete mystery to me. But overall,...

Re: Lago's Preliminary Winds of Fate System

On the second round of combat, Rothgar engages a golem. Holy Bash wouldn't work too well against the creature and he doesn't want to make Super Slash and Whirlwind--which would be much more useful--unavailable, so decides to use the power 'Bash'. For his Winds of Fate roll, he rolls a 3 and a 1. Si...

Intermittent fasting is the nuts, actually. I do this on a regular basis and it's not difficult + I feel great. Go read something like The Alternate Day Diet or just do the simple thing: every second or third day, have 500 calories, tops, nothing if you can do it. Other days, don't pig out, but eat ...

This is one thing that Werewolf the Forsaken did basically right: no more "incest baby" chargen option and no more "dog rape imperative." Indeed, it's pretty simple and clear: What the fuck? Dude, it's not "rape" when YOU'RE A FUCKING WOLF TOO. Is a human who nails a w...

Betrayal at the House on the Hill is fun largely because of it's heavily-randomized nature; it's not a game you can enjoy too much if you're going to get super-serious about competitive play. Some of the scenarios are definitely skewed toward one side or the other, but I think a lot of that comes d...

Have you worked in a truly secure office environment, in the real world? Real-world secure installations really do use low-tech expediencies like just not using insecure technology at all. If high-end security in 2070 requires pencils, papers, and no technology more complicated than typewriters, ba...

They gotta make it simpler. No, simpler than that. With less die rolls. -Username17 Fewer. That depends on whether you consider die rolls to be distinct units or an aggregate quantity. It's fewer dogs, but it's less sand. Personally, I consider die rolls in a dice pool system to be amorphous quanti...

Frank, you're awesome. That said, uh, how do I put this? Unless you've got seriously hard proof of everything you've said--to the word--you might want to worry, just a tiny bit, about that whole libel thing. I don't think you're lying. As I said, you're awesome, and if you start a cult, I'll join. B...

Another session: Camarilla elders hear about a local troll that's not so involved with the Ko3S. He's been passing messages through the Madness Network, and might know a decent amount about the current state of the Dark Reflection. Coterie is asked to find him and get him talking. Big deal: are we missing something, or are Getting Information tests unopposed? As far as we can tell, it's exactly as hard to ask the Extra security guard "What are the launch codes?" as it is to ask the Joker "Where is the bomb?" so long as they both don't want to tell you to ...

I would also make sure that everyone is on the same page with regards to the world. Since Shadowrun is - at least superficially - based on our world to some degree, people may have different assumptions about how open weapons are carried, how the cops react to what, how money works etc. While we're...

OK, that gives me a better idea of the baseline (and I'm guessing that the sorcery is as intended then--you don't want starting characters walking past any IRL defenses in Maya?) I would still like some inkling of a system for (say) dreaming into Maya. Can my character with Astral powers and knowled...

Another issue: not a lack of clarity of rules, but still. If I'm a character whose schtick requires reliable access to (say) Maya, how do I obtain this? The worlds are accessible by sorcery, but it's typically Elder as written. (I can force people into DR with Advanced, but that's not quite the same...

Frank, Maybe I'm misreading this, but it seems that reading the rules strictly, if I Auspex myself into Shallow Dark Reflection and punch, I will hit the goblin in front of me; if I shoot a bullet, I hit the mortal instead (as it leaves the DR as soon as it leaves my gun.) This seems a bit odd. Work...
