This would also explain the deformities (and possible death) caused by taint. Evil is just a heavy metal.
Which means Detect Evil very well might be radioactive, like an X-Ray.

Re: Stuff that wasn't Eberron
One weeaboo yaoi-obsessed friend of mind claims elves are Asians, because they live longer than humans/Westerners, are isolationists/hate outsiders, lack body hair (she says this despite having slept with a number of Asians. Evidence (pr0n) suggests it all just migrated to the crotch), are generally...

That, a home for psionics and the way the races came to be:
Warforged, aka runner up for the race with the most annoying fanboys ever: built
Everything else: humans sexed up X, and they bred true.

Re: The Optimization of E6
Heck, at this level, direct damage spells can actually be pretty nifty, so you go from Fireball 6d6 (reasonable for level 6, really) to Suddenly Maximised Fireball 36 (better for level 6) to Sudenly Maximised, Suddenly Empowered Fireball 36 + 3d6 (even better for level 6) etc.[br][br]Or you take the...

Doesn't it say an evil ritual is required to become a lich? Sure, you could claim "That's only flavour text!" but Alignment is pretty much glued to flavour text most of the time. So if you want the lichification process to not involve "an evil rtitual", then you probably no longe...

Oh, I understood that, I just remember Frank saying "We have no idea what to do with potions and scrolls." so I thought I'd mention that as an idea.[br][br]And magic bottles would be cool. You could then fill them with melted snow from Mount Celestia, water from the hotspring a Linnorm res...

Re: Unsorted Material
One idea for scrolls: Who says they have to burn up when used? Why not make them a magic item that either lets you cast the spell X/encounter, X/day, at will, whatever, maybe even giving it full-round activation or whatever as they have to read it out?[br][br]Or perhaps make them items that effectiv...

I imagine the *theory* of it was for people to have heaps of low-level tricks available, thus plenty of variety.[br][br]I've seen a similar thing put in place by someone else, where you go 1-10, then after that you start Gestalting another class in 1-10, then another, then another etc. So you'd end ...

Re: Reviews of Frank and K's stuff? (And potential campaign)
The idea is so that, if pushed off a cliff, you still die when you hit the bottom (instead of the awesome barbarian shock troopers who leap off flying creatures, rage mid-air, take the landing damage and keep going), and armies can still kill PCs. Seeing as I prefer the Dynasty Warriors approach, it...

Re: Stuff that wasn't Eberron
Little Red Riding Hood seems far more interesting than Eberron.
But yes, a land of Awakened things sounds cool. Woah. Furniture would be really creepy, because you'd know it was made out of the hacked up pieces of the corpse of an intelligent creature.

Oh, I agree that the stupidity of that is the main problem there, but "I know all the good spells" classes are still better than "I can't wait until I level up and learn a new spell" classes, even ignoring that.[br][br]But I would not fault a person for not having a world with cr...

Re: Wild Shape
That looks pretty good, really. A nice, limited list of options, scales with level, but doesn't let you go through the books to find the perfect thing, doesn't open up the really dumb stuff, and isn't too hard to keep track of the changes.

Agreed.[br][br]Although I would like one PAO spell that, instead of allowing powerful forms, can let you turn objects into living creatures for a bit. Even if it could only turn them into, say, animals or humanoids. And also worked as a SoD that turns people into objects (limited duration).[br][br]A...

Re: Wild Shape
I like the idea of it as a buff spell. The kind that gives you a generic list of things you can choose to have, but keeps tabs on it in general. Instead of "I win", but likewise better than just a disguise, which any old illusion can pull off.

Yeah, that's true. I'd feel rather out of place seeing as, while I don't want a game to be just one long series of fights, I do like the concept of "Here is the problem. It exists because of these bad guys. You have swords. I think you know what to do."

Yeah, I noticed the "My preference = good game design" thing, that's the bit that put me off the article. I like the change made to the rust monster, and the idea of "per encounter" mechanics.

Oh good, it looks like the [Aquatic] thing is currently fixed. Last I knew, you could turn into a giant squid and wander around on the land with 10 tentacle attacks, but more importantly, couldn't turn into a fish and swim underwater. You couldn't even do the "I'M A SHAAAAARK! SUCK MY DIIIIICK!...
