Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both, Continued

Whoops, I neglected to notice the natural armor bonus. That definitely makes a difference.

I was under the impression that monsters were built with the elite array, though.

In a water-free campaign, it's going to need a way to get a land speed faster than 5'.

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both, Continued

Tritons are CR 2, and the only reason they are so is because of that spell-like ability. Just chop it off and they aren't even as good as a human, so give them something back and there you go.

Re: Pokemon SAME

That's just simplistic game mechanics run amok. A very large number of characters in that game actually have bikes -- for example, everyone on bicycle road. Hell, they even built a bicycle road, so that means that they need to be easily available.

I'm about to add these to the Frank & K pdf, and here's a few potential issues I caught while reading them:[br][br]Alertness:[br]I would switch the 14/19 rank abilities. Blindsense is ungodly awesome, and the 19 rank ability isn't really that great at all when you have blindsense.[br][br]Animal ...

Don't forget that "Each XP in the component costs adds 5 gp to the market price", so add 5 * total XP cost to that.

Probably best for a feat like that to go:[br][br]Jump bonus -> jump/run up walls -> glide through air -> lower maneuverability flight -> perfect flight (with appropriate restrictions, like duration and jump DCs)[br][br]or something, no? I can't answer for everyone else, but for me it has something to do with how one of you goes riding around in every thread on a high horse, spouting the same damn thing every second post. You don't like someone's attitude. Okay, we get it already. Seriously.

Re: Why Frank's Tomes Have Not Caught On (In Some Circles)

I haven't said anything up until now because it's really not my place to speak in for other people who are fully capable of defending themselves. That said, I think I speak for everyone here when I say:

Get the fvck off your high horse already. Seriously.

The LaTeX source for the pdf file of the Tomes is available on the page with the pdf file. I'll grab it and add on all the unsorted Book of Gears material, the rest of the Frank stuff, and the rest of the Tome-worthy 'appendices'. Shouldn't take too long.[br][br]Is there anything missing from the PD...

Re: A Rough Sketch of Skill Feats

The problem is that even with them, the jump skill still sucks.

A good feat based around Jump needs to address the problem that the skill stops being useful when everyone starts flying.

Re: Starting an online game.

Has AIM gotten rid of that retarded ~100 character limit per message in a chat room yet? I don't think any other messengers have that stupidity. Because that's seriously painful when you type a long message and it gets sent to the bit bucket with nothing but a "Message exceeded character limit&...

The Golden Compass movie -sucked- (spoilers inside)

What a fucking embarassment. They cut out every connecting sequence in the book that made it all make sense, and left only the action. And changed a bunch of things around for no reason. And switched the placement of two scenes near the end to make for a "better", non-cliffhanger ending. D...

Re: Tome Series - Character Creation Thread!

The monk abilities scale just fine. A +4 dodge bonus to AC is nice no matter what level you're at. A reflex save vs being helpless doesn't suddenly get worse as you gain levels (how many things are immune to helpless again?). The same can be said for most of them.

For until you get two-weapon fighting, I'd seriously just stick with a scythe and get some cool auto-crits off of it from Kiai! There used to be a great exotic weapon from Eberron called the Talenta Sharash that was basically a scythe with reach, but it was nerfed into oblivion because of a printing...
