He's the hero, let him go. Even if stopping Shakespeare's tragedies from being tragedies is a thing we should do during this, killing Romeo at this point certainly won't do it.

The sword is also described neutrally--just "a sword"--while the crown was apparently worn by Shakespeare's most evil king.
