Actually, that's exactly what the feat gives. It straight out gives you the specific subtype selected as defined by what the monster manuals say that those subtypes give. In addition to 1 bite, or 2 claw attacks, Energy Resistance 5 versus Fire or Cold. As well as the ability to take [Fiend] feats....

Wait, so now you can take a feat to get benefits way better then the actual Tome Feat gives?

Can I take Child Necromancer and just have it give me +4 CL to all spells and not have the child drawback at all?

1) I would love to get some real D&D going in person. Haven't been able to for a long time. 2) Problems with playing online: a) Takes even longer to get anything done. Level up once a year if your DM doesn't fudge to a huge degree, or you are playing IM or something. b) The only reason online ga...

Meh, 3/4 abilities don't actually matter if you aren't in Hades. That doesn't seem to be true of most other Armors.

I'd go:

+1: You don't care, +X Will saves.
+5: Other people don't care, Aura like a Paladin of Tyranny or Hexblade.
+10: Whatever.
+15: Negative level on attacks.

1) Ways to get the alchemy:
a) buy that shit
b) craft that shit
c) Hand your wizard a vial every several days and say, cast fabricate bitch.

2) Ur-Priests have enemies, so you should send Solars after level 10 characters.

So people are taking the sample alternate adventure rewards as "equipment" in that train wreck? Whatever. No, No Frank. There are two games. One is high powered somewhat theoretical game. Uber is DMing, JaronK is not involved. It will be very fun. The other, codename Failchallenge, is the...

Some guy actually thinks a core only Monk can take on level appropriate opposition, and even real characters made out of many books... His example involved 4 items that break WBL hard by themselves and break the rules too as they are not always on, they have to be activated. No, it wasn't Ae...

Beguilers do have it on their list. This particular Beguiler even has a +28 mod to it. Mostly because you never know when you might need to disable a Wall of Force. EDIT: And I just realized what I want to play, my Summoner. He has a few minions of course, including pulling some tricks to get a pair...

If we are making Tome character why am I not playing one of my three Demons? I mean, Final possess anyone, The Architect is relatively less powerful, but such a badass. And Velsar has Greater Planar Binding at will, followed by Gate at will at 17. Or I could just build a ridic Cleric Archer that kil...

As part of my mocking of JaronK's "optimization" level. For the campaign test, I went ahead and also bought an advanced monster using the pricing from the Warbeast bullshit. I bought a 9HD large fleshraker. Who could probably solo the first 5-10 encounters. But whatever. The best part is, ...

You know, we are talking about Diplomacy being able to turn people into mindless automatons, it doesn't have to be D&D style. One example, it could be exactly like D&D style in every way but not have flat DCs and instead have opposed checks with bonuses based on initial attitude. Suddenly Ob...

Technically, Magic is balanced. Just like MVC II is balanced. There is so much broken stuff that most people can't even keep track of all of it, much less pick the characters/cards to counter it. Magic is kinda balanced because it's competitive, which is much easier to balance than a cooperative sy...

It's actually a viable system, hell, at least it's interesting unlike 4e.

Okay, I was really not going to say anything about this, but this is too much. Isn't half the damage from Flamestrike Holy damage?

It certainly isn't fire damage with an alignment subtype, since fire damage is never affected by DR.

Omen has unexpectedly already handed me a chance to quote JaronK at him. I love this game. EDIT: Da'Vane. My favorite part is that she thinks why you believe something is more important then whether that belief is correct. "I think Fighters with Wraithstrike can't hit the touch AC of most creat...

How do you get immunity to ability damage? Well, since twinned split rays are generally a PC thing, the way monsters are immune to ability damage are: 1) Being undead 2) Being a construct 3) Being some other creature that has that feature. 4) not having an Int score (not quite the same but does inv...

Actually RC, a regular ray of Stupidity is an insta kill on most magical beasts and all animals. when you start getting into twinned split rayed maximized empowered ones it's a 1-hit KO on everyone except the Wizard, for which it might as well be because he's now at 9 int. Of course, it doesn't matt...

Well Archmage is a PrC actually worth taking, and one could make the argument for Assassin back when it had spells.

Come on guys, he all know the Piazo design guideline:

"We promise to reduce 3.5 D&D to six options. Just six. Promise."
