One problem I see is the saving throws. 10+Class level+ Cha mod is higher then any other saving throw in the game. (standard is half class level). So a level 5 Vengeance Knight throws out DC 24 confusions. And a level 20 VK throws out DC 47 Confusions and Phantasmal Killers. Now maybe you mean for i...

I have no mouth and I must scream. Second, you can use it to fly up on top of something and rain down death. So if you're near a wall or a house, for instance, you fly up there and shoot down from there. You are already on the ground, so are fine. Seriously, its useful in combat, especially for avo...

Yeah, I only got a three games in. A gold Rush that I was told over and over how good I am (yes I won) and that I'd make a great warrior? Whatever that means. A assault that I lost because I played for broke under the false assumption that a Rogue could use his Assassinate special on the orb. So I l...

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards It's a semi-thread, but I find it so apropros for those arguing for Dumb Melee Fighters, that I needed to point it out. I hope it isn't already well-known here, and I'm having a brain fart. Well known probably, but my favorit...

33 new Rituals released! Featuring such amazing shit as: 1) Paying 30 GP for special magic one time use Curtain that takes 10 minutes to hang up. 2) Becoming super super invisible (which depending on the rules, really just gives a -10 to Perception checks) as long as you never move or attack. So I g...

1) Yes, I want certain characters to fall off the RNG in certain areas. 2) So what you are saying is we should use a d4 instead of a coin toss? 3) I don't think you are understanding, changing the static bonus at level 1 that defines you to hit chances for the rest of the game does not create variab...

Well I think it's a crap idea because I want there to be variance in the RNG beyond "defense skill" vs "attack skill" I want touch attacks that are nearly assured successes, or no attack role at all. I want variable AC vs to hit ratings as I advance, so hit ratios change. I don't...

For me I think you could make him a ranged stun type, but add in the getting better/figuring him out thing by making his Status effects scale up as combat continues.

Something like: Hit for Trip attempt, or something, then Fort save or Stun, ect, scaling up with each consecutive round you hit them.

But there are still Minotuars and Bugbears that can make them oversized, creating 2d6 weapons for sure as a minimum.

I love that in any given round half the charaters didn't even make an actual action.

Sprint, cast Cure Light Wounds, move to be flanking (and then not make a standard action attack or casting a spell). Ect.

I mean, I never saw the cleric cast anything offensive.

You talk about: No one is forcing you to play the game. No, and no one is forcing you to DM it either. So you can get down of your high horse and go sit at home, or you can DM a game that the group wants. Nope that's true. And in suhc a situation where the group basically tried to turn the campaign...

Well no one is ever going to play in a RAW high level game because then you seriously do have a shit ton of characters that all have +400 to Saves, +400 to AC, +400 to attack and damage, Infinite spells per day, +400 to spellcasting stat, ect. as soon as you hit level 9. But yes, playing at higher l...

Hey, I hate level 1 as much as the next guy. It's boring and your opponents are bland and typical. I've done so many lame kill the orc/goblins/kobolds quests that I'd prefer not to see level 1 for some time. But, if that's what the DM is running then you shouldn't sign up for the game at all. It's ...

I didn't say it was a good reason. I'm just speculating about what the original d&d designers may have been thinking. Regardless, 3e makes it easy to start at whatever level you want, and 4e has explicit rules for it. This is an odd statement. The way you say it implies that 3.5 doesn't have ex...

I've always been confused with the obsession D&D has with starting people out at a level where house pets can give you a good run for your money. Various rules to not make the first three levels such a crap shoot have been proposed, but the official people seem to be completely unwilling to jus...

1) Yes Superior Invisibility is the bee's knees. It's also an 8th level spell. So your choices are: 1) Face a Dragon without Superior Invisibility. 2) Face a Dragon capable of casting spells, including Scintillating scales, and has approximately the same wealth as a character. Not to mention that if...

RC: Only if you had a really crappy unimaginative borderline retarded DM, like apparently you. Hours to make an encounter? You must be blind and doing it by brail.

In 4e you never even have the option to go outside what the DM has prepared.

Seems like? I'd think everyone with half a brain has realized that's exactly what they intended and accomplished, and the only reason RC has such a hard on for 4e now.

Well my point is that you are asking us if a Ring that gives:

Haste/Shocking Grasp 4/day and Permanent Enlarge is equal to an item that just gives Permanent Enlarge.

No. It's better.

Well for the Monk's Ring, is haste limited to 4/day as well? Is Enlarge?

Keep in mind that infinite uses of Enlarge Person at CL 1 pretty much means you know have a permanently enlarge Monk.
