No. Read the fucking swarm rules. They do not need to 'attack' in order to inflict damage. They just need to move into the monks space. Bats will have no trouble keeping up with a low level Monk. Yeah, never said they needed to attack, I said Bat swarm is the way to go because they have the speed t...

These sorts of class-vs.-class fights prove basically nothing; in my experience, 90% of the result is determined by the player's tactics and the ground rules of the fight and 10% is determined by what class you choose. Pretty much. Of course, you should add in some percentage for the rng's influence.

summon swarm is a lot better than the monkey spell, now that I have looked. Bats can fly and have the Wounding ability. They are also immune to weapon damage. Speed is not an issue. Look at the swarm subtype. There is also a distraction/nausea chance, but it is only minimal. So debuff from afar, bl...

I said 3-5 level, but yeah, I am sure a 5th level Wizard can find a way to royally screw over a Monk anyway. If the Monk and the Wizard were both level 3 or 4, I am sure the Wizard could put the Monk out of commission with a simple Color Spray or Sleep spell. The latter gives the Wizard a free chan...

Ok, so say the skill ranks and difficulty ranks of doing stuff with the skills is set up in a 6 tier system as follows: 1 Unskilled U 2 Apprentice A 3 Journeyman J 4 Master M 5 Grandmaster G 6 Legend L And then your Difficulty Class chart flows as follows: Skill..........Difficulty Rank Rank..U…. You might want to bone up on Pathfinder a bit before making such attempts. isl-Monks get full bab for manuevers through Manuever Training at 3rd level. winnah-If by animate hair you mean the strangling hair spell, it's unlikely to be very effective against a 5th level monk focusing on manuevers, and...

Just wanted y'all to know Wind Walkers have been updated to Pathfinder due to the Tome of Horrors Complete: A roaring cyclone at least twice as tall as a human bears down on you, spinning dirt and earth into the air as it moves. Essentially, the changes they're attempting to make are as follows: If you start out hiding/concealed, you can cross a creature's line of sight and still be hidden if you end your move with some form of concealment. In other words, you can actually use stealth to sneak. There is a huge thread compla...

Your main attacks are all ranged touch attacks that you add your intelligence bonus AND your dex bonus to, and then add your int bonus to the damage. Adding you Int into your attack roll is not a feature of the alchemist class. Not sure where you got that impression. Throw Anything (Ex): All alchem...

Critical Success isn't a look-up. It's just 10% (rounded up) of your (modified) chance of success. So, they eliminated some subtraction, but kept the division/multiplication.

nope, In an opposed test both partipants roll their respective skills. The winner of the test is the one who gains the higher level of success; if both participants have the same level of success, then the winner is the one with the higher dice roll within his skill range. If both fail then a stalem...

RE: Degree of success Frank, in RQ2 they have eliminated some of the math regarding degree of success: If two opposing forces roll the same level of success, the one that rolled highest wins. So, if you have a 75% chance and your opponent has a 35% chance, and you roll a 12 and he rolls a 27, he win...

Oh, and Charisma has been made into the most important stat of the game; High Charisma means you get more chances to advance, while low Charisma means you get less. So, for instance, if your Charisma is 13 or better, each time the GM gives you advancement rolls, you get 1 extra. If it's 6 or less, y...

None of it matters after 11th level anyway, because Gunfighters retire at level 11 OH MY GOD LEVEL ELEVEN CHARACTERS CAN MAKE A LOT OF MONEY!!!!!! None of it matters after 11th level anyway, because Gunfighters retire at level 11 This is not giving me a very favorable impression of Steven Radney MacFarland's first foray into Pathfinder Design (he is the primary responder on Gunfighters and apparently the class' designer/author.) As it has been...

Oh yeah, World of Synnibarr. 1) Rules can't be changed and 2) players can vote to have a gaming session overturned/re-run. Pretty sure that's where I read that. Of course, it's been years and my brain was trying to escape through my ears....

The game needs to come up with new, awesome things the rogue can do with those skills, rather than facing the same old challenge in a new skin. Which means the skill should be "Athletics" instead of "Climb" and "Contrivance" instead of "Pick Lock". Make the s...

I think the point here should be at some point locks, doors, and walls shouldn't fucking matter any more. At some point, you should be able to say "There isn't a wall I can't climb, a lock I can't pick, or a knob I can't polish." The point at which there are no more challenging walls, loc...

In fact, if you keep putting points into climb up to 16th level as a Rogue, you should be able to hold onto the wall with one foot while shooting a bow and kicking the orc below you in the face with the other foot. After all, the Wizard has already been disintegrating things with his words for 5 lev...

The RPGA stuff is even more out-there than it used to be. You have to pay money per event to play in it, and your characters are stored in central databases and stuff. There is very little crossover between PAthfinder Society and people sitting around playing a regular game. If you play Pathfinder ...
