Yeah honestly I do stuff more like Frank's ideas. I tend to hate planar adventuring because there's really nothing out there that the adventurers actually care about, unless you're just doing a raid on Asmodeus or something. Are you kidding me? What about all those mineral deposits in the Plane of ...

K, I think that the point is that you can gain power from raw faith alone (and praying at churches and obeying said deity's tenets).

And in the real world, there are plenty of people like that. Imagine in a D&D setting.

That makes a lot of sense, but the Efreet just needs to be lucky enough to get summoned by someone who will give him one of the 3 Staffs of 50 Wishes in return for his service.

That, and I don't plan on any time soon (if I do allow Wish) for characters at 9th level to get Wish.

Efreet that are rich (of which there are many) can probably buy a Magic Item with Dimensional Anchor, so they won't ever become the victim of Planar Binding.

Is that because Artificers can transfer magic items into experience?

Clerics don't need religion to rule over towns; just look at the spells that they get.

I always assumed that the Dragonmarked Houses had all the Fabricate, Wall of Iron, and such loopholes, and that they controlled the game setting in a way that the megacorps control the Shadowrun setting. So Eberron's schtick is that there is no high level antagonists exploiting the hell out of magic...

Frank and K's cap was 15K, if I'm not mistaken. Also, Google "The Wish and The Word," and you can see how truly broken Wish is even without the greater powers. That, and you get to see Frank and K optimize. It's %@$*&^ scary. Googled it, but it did not come up on the first few pages. ...

Eberron Sucks?

I have heard several people's opinions on Eberron here. I have mostly heard negative comments.

I want to know what it is about the setting that is so bad.

High-level adventures that aren't planar

Normally in D&D games, at high levels, the PCs move to alternate dimensions, as it is assumed that the Material Plane will have few to no challenges left for them. Frank's Wish Economy is that the Wish Economy is the highest in the three tiers, and that it involves stuff like Efreet, Wishes, Fab...

Foil Action is very powerful, but I still think that it is on par with some of the stuff that Clerics, Druids, and Wizards can do.

How are these NPCs?

I have a 5th level party: an Orc Fighter/Barbarian (RoW), a Human Core Sorcerer (that has Eschew Materials for free at 1st level, uses spells per day 1 level higher), a Human Cleric, and a Drow Assassin. The Cleric is a Child Necromancer that worships a God of Life/Death. I am planning on setting th...

The thing I don't get is the fact that people don't seem to realize that the Wizard actually has a really good touch AC most of the time since their second stat is Dex, their AC improving spells usually add to touch AC, and the fact that the only thing they have to spend gold on is AC improving ite...

Sorry if I confused you guys.

You see, after playing normal D&D and hearing about the positive feedback of the Tome Series, I expected it to be some Platonic Ideal of D&D.

My hopes were too high, but I like the Tomes nonetheless.

I give only important, classed, monsters Tome feats, and not monsters with 20+ Hit Die.

Monsters with Tome Classes/Feats

Okay, so if I decided to give an Ogre levels in Barbarian (RoW), then should I replace the PHB feats with Tome feats, or leave as is? What about a mixture between the two? Also, would replacing a classless monster's feats with Tome feats vastly alter their combat effectiveness and challenge?

LOL at Foil Action being overpowered.

A core Wizard, if he wins initiative, can summon some monsters to distract the Fighter in order to get 30-60 feet away. Or use Expeditious Retreat.

Or turn Invisible so Fighters without Blind-fight have to guess where he is first.
