The wicker armour was a bit of a stretch, but some descriptive text should rectify your concerns. Mostly, this was due to the armour scaling to Jump, the intent of which none of us could quite follow in any way except this one. As for the mithril shirt ability, would DR 10/bludgeoning and piercing b...

What Nonsince! ...Hey, maybe that'll get some memetic traction. Don't forget about Khan the Destroyer, though, guys. That guy's starting to show off a lot of fail himself. The infamous creator of pun-pun descending into fail now?! What's becoming of all these forums I used to enjoy frequenting? ......

Well, for a start, a rogue multiclassing into wizard is a very big newbie trap, since your abilities that you get from feats do precisely 0. Trying to make a warlock into a striker will also fail, since they actually aren't. Trying to make a paladin into a defender will also fail, since they actuall...

The only main difference is that 4E lacks the newbie traps that 3E had for the most part. While there are a few crazy over the top abilities in 4E, It just doesn't have the massive suck that 3E had. 3E was laden with pitfalls everywhere you went. Thus 4E's randomly generated character is much bette...

According to the 4e devs, that's good game design. If everything sucks equally, it's all on the same power level. Therefore, it's balanced. Therefore, it's good. Except they can't even get that right - look at the divine oracle if you don't believe me. People call it the 'divine whoracle' for a rea...

Parts of 4E combat need to be sped up. Killing minions is however, not one of those parts. While normal 4E combat is excruciatingly slow. Minion combat is on the other hand, too fast. They're actually fine at low levels, when your abilities aren't going to take them all out at once. But at high lev...

Getting power characters is pretty much the same. Like 3E there's a few uber abilities out there that are really abuseable and make everything else look like shit. So you take orb of imposition or battlerager and go with it. It seems your perception of it is just different because you can't nuke ev...

Not really no. Because minions are still work 1/4 of the XP a real monster. So if you kill 4 minions, that's like killing one full monster. They're already painfully easy to take down as well. The game doesn't need more ways to kill them even faster. In fact, the game needs more ways of keeping min...

Why is that? Does it state you have to target the nearest enemy or something? And what would the Purifying Fiery Tiefling Cleric do? I could read these, but it's not worth opening the pdf for, 4E is that bad. Both curse and quarry specify 'a creature', which, according to 4E, is an ally and an enem...

Overall though 4E is really simple. There isn't nearly as much dumpster diving required because there just aren't as many choices. A 3.5 wizard had to select a whole spellbook full of crap, where as the 4E character is really limited to only 2 at will powers, 4 encounter powers, 4 daily powers and ...

Once you understand that the key to 4E is preventing your opponents from acting and killing them as quickly as possible, it's not hard sorting through the useless powers and magic items. I don't see how dumpster diving is more complex in 4E than in 3.5 or that ignoring fluff and ignoring the way th...
