Oh, and if you want to know more about each distro I can give you a quickshot and answer any questions. Switching is hard, staying is easy.

I run Windows 7 under a Virtual Machine. It runs faster in the VM on my NIX than it does native. I kid you not. I can also cap the amount of RAM and CPU it uses so it doesn't slowdown my work. On the note of Adobe and WINE: If you install the Adobe suite individually it works just perfectly. Wine is...

So we're pretty stuck unless someone personally does it, and that someone would have to be you. As a Server Administrator I have no problem doing this...But server administrators are notoriously stand-offish about people asking to improve some service they provide. Where geeks are normally socially...

Again, why are rifles and shotguns both long arms but an assault rifle isn't? Like Crissa says, you need more descriptive text to describe the categories. Like I said, the categories are based on the weapons handling. A Remington Rimfire 504 doesn't handle the same as an AK-47, but does handle the ...

This was my big problem with SR3 players. Lots of swords and axes.

Melee weapons stopped being a viable in the 1800's people, put down your pole-arms.

ETA: More importantly I'd love to see a Fantasy version of SR4's system. I'd do it myself but I can't finish a project for -- Ooooh a shiney penny

Both classifications are based on the use. Long arcs, slow movements, requires two hands. (Extended Melee) Short arcs, swift movement, used one handed. (Personal Melee) One handed, steady firing, doesn't require shoulder stabilization (Small arms) etc. Like I said, the parts in () are just example w...

No split, I think you're confused about the

Those are "Club;Blade;Exotic" examples.

I don't know, maybe he's making a bard because clerics are gone and wizards are gone or nerfed massively?
So the player chose the bard because there wasn't anything better available? Sounds awesome. Also, my point still stands.

Here's the thing.

If a party doesn't have a Wizard/Cleric/Rogue, then what the hell is the bard player thinking making a bard?

If the party has a Wizard/Cleric/Rogue, who needs the Bard?

He's a second fiddle in a band that doesn't work without first fiddles.

The first "dot" of Fortitude allowed you to soak Aggravated damage, such as that caused by fire, sunlight, and werewolf claws. Potence, on the other hand, added successes to any Strength checks you made. I was so astounded when I saw this for the first time. My friends wouldn't understand...

I don't want to take a level in "shape shifting" and get fucking creepy eyes or a confident jaunt. Waiting until Protean 4 just to turn into a bat is offensive. Cut that crap out, and vicissitude can be folded in with no problems. Vampire: Bloodlines (PC Game) handled this pretty well. Pr...

Well there are a lot of problems with removing the Magic/Demi-humans. Willpower, for one, becomes a lot less useful. There are also less flaws/merits to take and need to be filled.

Double post:

So what I'm looking at right now is this:

1. All attributes from SR4
2. All skills from SR4
3. Magic = Blood Potency
4. Magician PQuality = Clan
5. All nWOD Discs.

Adept powers sound like they fit in nicely as vampire powers.
nWOD Discs don't actually take that much change to fit, mostly the action types and the stats.

Ok, so I'm starting with Shadowrun 4, taking bits of NWOD, and covering it with OWOD.

What parts of SR4 do I drop? What parts of nWOD do I add? What parts of nWOD do I adapt for SR4 and what parts of SR4 do I adapt for nWOD?
