So you'd rather the alternative? You mean there is an alternative? The UN or nothing? Total nonsese. There are an infinte possible sets of alternatives. The very structural nature of the UN has served its purpose; it is ill suited to the purpose it wants to become. You said that rejecting the UN is...

A better answer is; bureaucracy rules; the foxes run the department of hen-house security; and everyone is either massively corrupt, egotistical, stupid or a combination of the three. So you'd rather the alternative? Where all of these corrupt, egotistical, or stupid people take knives and try to s...

How stupid do you need to be to reject the UN? Do you really want a serious discussion on that? Oh right, this is the Gaming Den, this isn't the place for a discussion, it's not even the place for an argument, this is the room for the insults. I mean how stupid do you need to want the UN? :bolt: I ...

Guu! - (OK the title is a lot longer, "Jungle no hale something something... Guu") Guu eating everything and everyone made this one kick ass early. And it only got weirder. "Jungle wa itsumo hare nochi Guu", also known as "Hale + Guu" (I believe this was the US title) ...

On a completely unrelated note , can I just say that I now hate these conservative manchildren. Not for the fact that they're being manipulated by million-dollar-budgeted advocacy groups, but because they are seriously holding signs that say "No UN" in symbols. How stupid do you need to b...

Glad to hear it - it's on my "I want to see this" list. Fave episode: Day of Sagittarius III. Two words. Dynamic. Entry. My favourite parts of that episode were the various ship crews. My favourite line from Haruhi as a whole, though, is "You need not move. I am fine." The next ...

I don't think I was giving a definitive list of groups within the party, but you have a valid point. I don't think they are as evil as some in the left insist they are, but they do worry me ... a lot. Depending on your definition of Evil, they may or may not be so. I believe that Frank would consid...

I believe it's because DBZ sets the standard for anime on account of its wide viewership. I ignore anyone who starts talking about anime in the general sense, though, and only listen to them if mention an actual genre . If you can't be bothered to learn/use genre names then it seems I left my attent...

Crissa,
I believe tzor missed out that other important group in the Republican party; the NeoCons. They've got quite a lot of political capital - Cheney was a founding member of PNAC (wikipedia). The NeoCons have been setting the US agenda for the past 8 years, really.

Simply put, without innovation, snail mail is as doomed as the telegraph. This innovation cannot come from a monopoly or a bureaucracy but from small companies that live, fail and die until one of them doesn’t fail and doesn’t die. They succeed and grow bigger and eventually some other company gets...

If you pay them they will. Someone will find a way to make it profitable. In any case, no matter what you do, someone is going to have to pay. You can't get around that. What you can get around is the extra cost and non added value of government bureaucracy. The post office cannot be efficient; the...

It looks to be similar to a previous problem. If so, then the SMTP server isn't reachable (to send email notifications to people you're PMing) and is parrotting the error to the wrong person (ah, debug messages).

FOX calls this a news program , so we can laugh at it. I like the bit where the insert speaker goes on a rant at bureaucracies - because huge businesses have a class feature that makes them magically run without any sort of C&C. Then they say "if you're a Muslim and move to America, you wi...

One could spend money on congressional committees investigating the possibility of spending money in manners that retard economic recovery, in concert with CEOs and Wall Street traders (experts on spending money to negative effect). Remunerated, of course. That'd almost certainly not help and would ...

I've also seen my idea before. It was what 3.XE did if you chose to play one of the wide classes, like Wizard, Cleric, or Druid. The examples I threw out are, well, examples that I generated in less than half a minute. The idea of making choices of increasing specificity as you go along enables you ...

There are thousands of equally viable models out there, but I'd rather do everything by the Power-Source-only classes initially. If we have "Primal", "Divine", "Arcane", and "Skill" as power sources in the game then your classes should be; Barbarian - Primal C...

There's nothing in the most basic idea of Fighters, or Barbarians, or Rogues, that say they can't use Green Rocks. That's an arbitrary accoutrement that people have come to believe is the a part of the whole. Wizards, Clerics, and Druids get to win reality because nobody in the design team ever deci...

There are some cool things in the game, though.
