What body mods are you using? I use CNHF v2_5 for women, because the basic body is barely muscly even at weight 100. It has modified armor and clothing for the new body shape too. (DLC included) For men, I use Better Males , if only because I felt dirty having only one gender naked. Other mods I sug...

You could easily copy your saves and mods to the new appropriate folders. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
