Not too sure if hero points are even needed. With 80 knights and about 5 players, that's about 16 knights dead per player before the campaign has to end because everyone important on your side is dead. If we go with 12 major battles and about 24 lesser fights, that's 36 fights. They players would ha...

Ok. Here's 6 people who I think could be Companions. Murg the Mighty - Focuses on wrestling and close quarters, unarmed combat. Wears chain armour, though. Can lift lesser men over his head and throw them. Rumored to have once wrestled a bear. Does not like horses very much. Lord Eric - Comes from a...

Allow me to rephrase. You are using an ability in a game. In order for the ability to succeed in producing the desired effect, you must spin a spinner with three colored section of equal size (red, yellow and blue) and get red. You must also roll a single d6 and get the number 6. If you do not get r...

Elennsar, Let's say you have a 6 sided dice and a spinner with 3 colored sections of equal size, red, blue and yellow. Based on this information, please estimate, to the best of your ability, the probability of the following events: 1] The spinner comes up red and you roll a 6. 2] The spinner comes ...

Stuff Frank posted in the Gaijin Activities thread: Dueling So you're staring at somebody with a sword and you want to cut their head off. They want to cut your head off as well. Hack: Characters can attempt to unravel the protections of their opponents. By reverse engineering the shield's genetic c...

1) Standard vanilla attack. 2) Flurry of blows (offensive stance only). - defense sacrificed for speed. 3) Precise attack (offense or normal stance only) - speed sacrificed for accuracy. 4) #1 in defensive stance. 5) Shield bash. Yes, you hit someone with your shield. (normal or offensive stance) 6...

You're going about this the wrong way. Rather than decide what the percent chance of getting killed in a given fight is first, decide what sort of things will be going on in combat. Then make mechanics that allow for it. Then tweek numbers that are too extreme or too puny. Start with this: Two knigh...

Floating Disk
Can a wizard ride a floating disk, as produced by the 1st level evocation spell "floating disk", thus allowing them to hover 3 feet off the ground? Does doing this allow them to ignore caltrops, difficult terrain, grease, etc.? Can a floating disk full of dirt support another floating disk?

A version of WoF which is not purely random would be, in my humble opinion, more enjoyable than a purely random version. Thus, I propose the following: All moves have a value between 1 and 6. The higher the number, the better the move. Every round, you roll a dice. You can use any power with a value...

It does not matter if something in a game does not work in a way described by nongame physics. Having breaks from what is normally possible is an important part of many stories and it would be silly to say that having such breaks is a bad idea. What you should not do, however, is have breaks from th...

I think the question that PhoneLobster needs answered is: Keeping in mind the fact that they players, if allowed, will try to create weapons from tiny floating rocks, what constraints, if any, will be placed on the minimum size of a peice of magical floating stone which the players are allowed to aq...

There is 0 net gravity on the inside of a hollow sphere. Absolutely none. The Wiki article explains it well enough.Crissa wrote:Just because it's tiny doesn't mean it exists. We've landed on asteroids with less.

World trees can work without making gravity not making sense: http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/5372/treeworldur1.jpg In this world, everything that exists is on an island in the middle of an endless ocean. The ocean is full of sea monsters and ghosts. In the middle of the ocean is a giant island. ...
