Multiple fiery enhancement does not stack. The rule isn't listed at the weapon enhancements and I can't not remember where it was, but it went like this "Multiple sources of the same (energy) damage type (ie.fire), do not stack". And as Meikle put forward, after psionics, you had collision...

It seems rather unbalanced to me, but I am speaking from normal D&D perspective, and as a normal player. As I can see it, we have a sorcerer/wizard combi with an "unlimited" spell list that can cross over to and mix arcane, divine and any other spellpower sources, unlimited casting of ...

Looking at the mindspace variant ,after visiting another thread (Deep Impact).

I dont really see a limit in how much it can cast per day/encounter/minutes. Does the warlock have a limit, or can he continous cast a spell that is part of his mindspace?

I like the idea of a lower-powered Tome variant. I also understand it wont be made so easily (as mentioned by previously by others). I do like the mind-space idea, wether it is the correct implementation or not. Mindspace feels more for psionics, in which they used their most powerfull powers as spa...

We use that xp is really a measurement of your soul. (Which kinda fits with D&D own standard explanation of dying and being resurrected, losing a level as your soul weakened through resurrection). Except that after level 5, your soul get bigger then your physical power, allowing you to the funky...

Scar has no or light armor, so yeah, D12 is fine. What you say is contradictionary anyway. Seems you dont know which opinion to follow. Yeah, hitpoints has less of an impact at higher level as you get fucked by spell saves. But it can save you a bit more at lower levels like against orcs. And yes yo...

Mguy, in general, people on the gaming den (and I assume anywhere else) would like their class to be usefull and atleast not *too* low in power. Giving class abilities based on feats is very low in power and usability. Basing class abilities on spell effects, is much more usefull. I read FMA, so I a...

I kinda like this as well. Instead of using pionic spells (or powers), they have the powers ingrained into themselves. A wizard need to prepare using formulas, psions simply do stuff ..they might use their mind for it, but they are not thinking about it (like with spell formulae), they just let it h...

Okay, cool. So, for example, we have a [Melee] tag, a [Range] tag, a [Stealth] tag, and a [Magic] tag. If you get say, 4 ability slots at start, 2 [Melee] gets you Warrior, 2 [Range] gets you Archer, 2 [Stealth] gets you Rogue, and 2 [Magic] gets you Mage. Second tier: Warrior/Mage = Eldrich Knight...

You could simply take 10 (which is your average roll, so how well you do normally). If take-10 is not enough, you can take a d20-roll to see if you can exert yourself above your normal average. Or just be lucky where you place your foot on the door as you kick it. Exerting yourself cost a bit more e...

Winds of Fate variant

A few threads that debated various topics made me think about Winds of Fate and how to adjust it. Points of discussion were things such as "spamming your biggest attacks first", "rolling dice to random to determine actions is bad",etc So here is a variant of WoF, it is untested a...

What are these other alternatives that people are suggesting to the HP system? The alternative that are actually used in publications ...

I assume you talk now specifically about the 4th edition?

Also what do you mean a fixed healthmeter? Fixed from level 1 to 30 (100 at level 1, 100 hp at level) , of fixed for each level for each class?

Psychic Robot, what Frank and Lago means, that if you are level 11 you can case two level 3 or one level 6 spell (max) for the same power points so you make a decision on that choice (use PP for 2 lower powered spells, or 1 maximized augmented spell) A psion who is in battle loses NOTHING for using ...

Big HP pools are just abstraction to show the difference between a low and high level characters/monsters, but it is a bit screwy for commoners, cats and mice. As for all SoD effects being damage. That can be done, if it is done through other means then hitpoints. Death attacks might do damage on yo...

Then don't have tiers. Just play your character differently. The whole point of a tier is to go 'level 4 is more different from level 5 than level 10 is from level 11'. If you can't explain why 4 to 5 is more different then don't put it in your game. I do, I just play differently. But for people th...

The only "hard" tier in D&D is between level 1-5 and 6+. But rather then power scaling, it more based on what power supports you. Assuming that you want an explanation why you can suddenly go beyond human limits. 1-5 can be natural power, 6+ is all supernatural, wether you have superna...

It is true that psionic focus is rather "alien" in D&D, as no other subsystem works that way. And psionic focus as it is by itself is rather wasteful. The only thing that gets close to it, is the refreshment mechanism of ToB. Except that takes action investment but not a skill-check lu...

Dungeon crusade is nice, but it doesnt feel like D&D 3.5 to me anymore. The classes are too short (3 levels) only, so it feels more like that FF-tactics thing Frank told about before. Classes should have minimal of 5 levels in 3.5 to represent tiers. Also, I do not want a complete rewrite of the...
