well, WBL-wise, you can only get a Ring of Telekinesis at 12th level. It also seems like a moderate magical item from BoG. Maybe fold them all into paper airplanes? I'm sure there's a cantrip for that. *sigh* It doesn't really matter. Use a hand of the mage , then. Put one on your familiar and let ...

Wadded up paper is really really hard to throw more than a few feet because of its anti-aerodynamic properties. Seriously, ball up a piece of printer paper and try to throw it as far as you can. Having it be a bunch pf pages doesn't help much either. This seems like it would make it hard to get any...

-Do I want some defenses to be rolled, or all of them to be passive? Rolling defenses makes things more random. Unless you want something to be specifically the thing you do when you're outclassed because it might work anyway - you probably should have all defenses static. -Username17 True. Actuall...

Page 35-36 in Tome v07.rev139 indicates that the Knight's code of conduct is essentially arbitrary. It also needs to be updated to reflect the actual code of conduct that the Knight class has, but that's a sword of a different energy (probably Stupid). You might ask Frank or K why the Knight cannot...

That's not entirely true. Just because you and he each dedicated yourselves to the visions and goals of Spaceasaurus Rex, doesn't mean your interests align. You may be all about contemplation, and prefer hunting tiny kobolds; your ally may prefer evangelism, and ask you to cruise around, looking fo...

take Arcane Disciple from Complete Divine (strictly worse than Attune Domain, since it also requires Wisdom, but easier to get approved). Each of those feats adds another spell for each spell level, most of which will be things you want since you actually picked the domain/sphere in question. This....

Personally, I'd rather magical swords do things rather than add plusses. It makes them more interesting, and it's less to take into account with getting the math to work. This. The system should, ideally, be set up so that any random fighter can grab a random weapon and face-stab level-appropriate ...

Y'know, I realized something. I had Infinity Mirror completely wrong. I thought Agent Smith was Infinity Mirror. This is what happens when I don't read Frank's explanation of things and try to figure out what the rules say. Still works, I was just responding to the argument against Infinity Mirror w...

Again, Echoes, that won't work with you using your ranger powers because you can't sneak attack off of your ranger powers. Unless you're seriously trying to make the argument that, say, a rogue with Brutal Advantage who used sneak attack for their first attack but then used a minor action attack an...

Okay, getting into vagary here but...won't all of those agents crash the node they're running on by overloading its processor limit? And don't you need to succeed some kind of test to get that node to run them? Independent agents function like people accessing a node. So unless lots of Matrix activ...

@Lago: Yeah, for Brutal Scoundrel. Brutal Advantage gives you +Str to damage on all attacks that have CA where you don't use Sneak Attack. Since perma-CA is pretty easy to set up (Frostcheese, anyone?) that means every attack.

If you don't want to go the pre-Errata pit fighter path, Bugbear Hybrid Ranger/Rogue gets pretty brutal. Pump Str and Dex (your rogue powers all run off Dex), with Wis as a tertiary. Pick up Hybrid Talent and take Brutal Scoundrel. You now deal +Str damage on all your SAs. This sets you up to take B...

The only thing EB is good for is tossing off Fort save or be nauseated for 1 minute every round (at like 11th level). Chain that, and it's actually a fairly decent multi-target SoD. The damage blows, but you're here to make people throw up for a minute, and that works on a decent chunk of stuff. It'...

1. Isn't it impossible to even run an unlimited or arbitrarily high number of agents? Doesn't running agents, like running programs, eventually decrement your Response? Only if you have them running on your persona. Instead, you can just shove them into other nodes and they'll run independently. Th...

Higher level spells should scale faster or use bigger dice. If Cone of Cold does 1d6/level, then Fireball should do 2d6/level or 1d8/level or affect more people, or have a ridiculous range. Flip those around. Fireball @ 1d6/level and Cone of Cold @ 1d8/level (perhaps a Fort save or be immobilized b...

You can also use a race with spell-like abilities, so long as the spell is on the sorc/wiz spell list. Aasimar get daylight 1/day with a CL equal to class level. Aasimar Cleric 3 can just take Obtain Familiar at 3rd level, since he has an arcane caster level of 3 (thanks to his SLA).

this is what I'm looking at for the spheres so far, it's difficult because there's a lot of earth and stone stuff that would fit, and I'm iffy on the granted powers: Earth <snip sphere 1> Stone <snip sphere 2> Earth <snip sphere ... 3?> Uh, Prak, you've got some confused spheres there methinks.

Gloves of permanent wraithstrike/greater mighty wallop. That should fix the attack/damage issues.

Alternatively, just have him make a Swordsage (give him Adaptive Style as a bonus feat).

Wait, Mage lacks retests? Time 2 (Divinations) is the single best Basic power ever printed in MET, period (although a few others come close). Every single challenge will be retested at least twice, and possibly more, depending on Merits and what other powers are on hand. The single biggest problem w...
