What's more shocking is that he has played a 3.5 game and actually thinks non casters can protect anyone, even themselves. I dont think so, if the casters where played by incompetent players, he could come to the conclusion that his Monk isnt so bad. But if he didnt know how initiative works... I s...

EDIT: You still want to roll low for initiative, because you go in order from lowest to highest and repeat. So current systems still use lower is better. I assumed you where talking about 3.X here... What? No it's not. Higher initiative is better in 3E and 4E. Ravengm did think that you talked abou...

I find that thread amusing. Shure there is no point in arguing with him, but I find his inability to understand ( or is ability to claim to not understand ) fascinating. The endurance of the other posters to try again and again to explain anything (like 2+2=4) to him is admirable and at this point p...

On Amazon you can get a new 3rd edition PHB for 15 bucks or a used one for $4. You can get a new 3.5 PHB for 19 bucks or a used one for $39. While there was a big selloff in anticipation of 4e, 4th edition's actual existence has not devalued the 3e or 3.5 stock at all. -Username17 Little OT, I saw ...

Still dodging Kaelik's question, Shadzar? Monsters have an AC, Fighters have a THAC300. Then you go: To compute, you have to add 13 to the monster AC, then add 12, then add 11, then add 10, then double, then add 9, then double, then add 8, then double, then divide by 2, then subtract 8, then divide...

Hmm translation error? In my German version: ...Fuchs: Fuchs-Gestaltwandler behalten in menschlicher [human] Gestalt ihren Fuchsschwanz... The new Critter-Power "Gestalt wandeln" [Change shape] talks about Metahumans, but unter Shapechanger-Powers they talk only about Change shape ( human ...

Well it was my (lazy) translation from German ;-)
But if my reading is correct, they can only turn into humans.

I was a little surprised that they gave rules for playing vampires & co.

Is that correct: Both Materialisation Mages and Possesion Mages can summont inhabitation spirits?
You can give the spirit one additional power per 3 (?) power points (<-- Can't find the text at the moment).

All this stuff basically can be controlled by sound limitations. As long as we dont know how this limitations work (rules wise) I remain unconvinced... or do anything else you could do with one hand . Only if you can affect stuff inside them and accurately why do you need to affect stuff inside them?

The problem you're trying to point out is not a problem. Seriously, your argument as far as I've seen boils down to "magic kills people". Ah sorry, my point was basically the same as 老子 I used less hardcore/extreme examples, but the point was the same. It occurs to m...

You got it reverse. If magic can do interesting things (example: fly) you can kill (example: kinetic bombardment). And if you have an Bomber in an Medival world you have an imbalance.
