Re: Hide Errata-ed again....

So what? The solution to the nerfed hide is like 15 new house ruled forms of hide mechanic?[br][br]I'd rather just have the existing hide work, it may have mechanical difficulties (mostly just the whole stupid skill point inflation thingy) but 1 inbuilt disfunctional mechanic is better than a huge p...

Re: Hide Errata-ed again....

Personally I think the whole its not hiding its flanking routine is some exceedingly desperate grasping for any explanation at all that will assist in justifying the sad nerfing of hiding.[br][br]Because being in someones blind spot is what hiding IS regardless of the whether the blind spot exists b...

So then you have a possible three restrictions on invisibility.[br][br]1) It doesn't work on wise willful stuff.[br]2) It doesn't allow you to do anything but travel from point A to point B, maybe, as long as 1 and 3 aren't involved.[br]3) It doesn't work when the DM says so.[br][br]You aren't touch...

Re: Hide Errata-ed again....

Now I since RC keeps saying all the good counter examples given here aren't really actual "hiding" I was going to bring up my extensive experience playing Hide'n'go Seek when I was a kid (well, actually its more popular hybrid Hidie Go Tips) and challenge him to call it not hiding.[br][br]...

Re: I shall rule my enemies through fear of chafing?

Actually I don't know about that.[br][br]The main bit of disarm talks about two methods of disarming. Disarming a melee weapon, which follows some outlined steps, or disarming things which are not melee weapons which is done basically by following the instructions in one sentence instead of the step...

[br] Yes, that's very hard to imagine, in fact impossible to imagine. I mean this is someone attacking you with a sword, and "hiding" within 5' of you, all without cover or concealment. [br][br]Why is it people obsessed with realism always have such narrow unimaginative and in the end inco...

I would ask him whether he is using rules that make evil kind of suck.[br][br]like the whole cleric class abilities thing. Good clerics can convert unused spells into useful cure spells, which is nice, but evil clerics can only convert to cause spells, which is not so nice unless everyone is undead,...

Re: I shall rule my enemies through fear of chafing?

One of the things I noticed though was that because of the wording having the improved sunder and improved disarm feats was not as beneficial if you wanted to sunder or disarm anything other than hand held weapons and shields. [br][br]Sure you'd still get things like the disarm +4 bonus, but once yo...

I shall rule my enemies through fear of chafing?

Ok so I went to look up sunder and disarm actions to see what sort of stuff one might get up to with a lot of partial actions or extra attacks etc... [br][br]And remembered that every time I ever tried this I ended up confused and annoyed by some rather ridiculous wording.[br][br]I wrote up a big li...

Re: Two-Weapon Fighting

I hate to be vague so I went and gave myself a quick update on multi versions of the two weapon feats. Its basically an aditional attack per hand at no (further) penalty for the base feat (in the MM) and (in savage species) up to 3 extra attacks rather than 1 extra attack at the various penalties fo...

Re: Two-Weapon Fighting

If she really likes multi weapon fighting and is a bit er, shifty why not go the whole "savage species" hog and find some vaguely plausable premise to give her additional arms, then just adapt the two weapon feats to multi weapon equivalent type feats at no extra cost. [br][br]It's been a ...

Re: In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night

Charge Casting is inherently problematic in an open-ended roleplaying game. It just doesn't work well, at all, if the game is not specifically finite in extent. Spell Points is a kind of charge casting that allows you to use extra high-powered spells by giving up lower level spells, and vice versa....

I've been looking and I've found even more stupid hate for yah.[br][br]Force skills suck and are all over the place, most force using characters don't get all of them as class skills until 4th level or later thanks to the (basically just annoying) "force training" feats. Not only that they...

Re: Maybe Mindless Stuff Just Shouldn't Be Alive?

I think a big problem is both that mindless is extended into a sweeping category including things it probably shouldn't include and that on the whole "mindless" is a bit of an exageration.[br][br]So a giant crab is "mindless"? Insects, crustaceans, and vermine in general are mind...
