James Wyatt June 18 at 8:18pm · A big change happened this week! After 14-1/2 years at Wizards of the Coast, I have moved from the Dungeons & Dragons team to work on Magic: The Gathering as part of the creative/story team. I'm tremendously excited about the opportunity for me to put my creative...

@Prak. but Captain Jack would fuck anything living, dead, inanimate. Just watch Sing Your Face Off.

pretty sure he would have any of the following gladly:
Tribbles
Daleks
Galeb-duhr
Flesh Golem
his pet rock
etc

yeah, they reproduce the form/stage that they are when wet. after midnight is fucked up like a lot of D&D magic fuckery can be. it is always after midnight somewhere. that part always pissed me off since it was only for the movie and an eay way to do something. oh wow bite the wire on the clock....

They have elongated and rounded noses, somewhere between a Neanderthal and a sheep. They also have slanty eyes and nostrils. To me, it looks like they've been deliberately but [put] into the uncanny valley, so they will look disturbingly inhuman, and slightly animalistic. the buzz elsewhere is gett...

I guess since I just played among friends I didn't ever get the madness of having to have the exact mini. We just used whatever minis most closely approximated what we wanted. Usually fairly close but we would sometimes use minis that we're not 40k minis. And on one end of the extremes we sometimes...

to me they look like a cross between hobbits and gremlins. i just cant figure out what is going on with the elongated heads.

i think this is what the chestburster coming out of John Hurt in Spaceballs turned into, but do they sing Michigan Rag?

something just seems off about them.

Baby Steps is not bad so far. If her Flag Breaks is jsut your average harem anime. It actually seems to be making fun of Hayate Combat Butler, which makes fun of EVERYTHING. Baby Steps seems like a more fun less sports version of Prince of Tennis. The Irregular at Magic High School seems to have a n...

its GW as normal. They want to sell more to people who don't need more since you can use any marine as anything when they dropped the WYSIWYG bullshit of requiring a model to have melta-bombs if you wants it to ahve them in the game. it was killing the artsy side of the hobby anyway. so since people...

Pretty much D&D is about monster slaying and monster slaying alone. The only real question is whether your quests are going to have fail/timed conditions or are going to be an unchanging dungeon. Only if you are Gygax or Wyatt, many people like Arneson disagreed and thus why there exists Dragon...

40k explains it clearly, as does normal physics. Dune even explains 30k use of chainswords. "The slow blade breeches the sheild." Armor is made for the most dangerous type of weapons. if ultrasmurfs are fighting lasguns and pulse carbines, then they need armor that can stop those. the dagg...

i would disagree. the majority of the game space happens on one plane. the spirit is to have an environment to play. MotP and Planescape is just "what if we threw every fucked up idea into one setting!"

The fact that Planescape can exist is more in the spirit of D&D, than what is in it.

Okay, so I think we've established why orcs haven't been wiped out. So, why haven't they gotten more sophisticated. Orcs are generally depicted as either nomadic or semi-nomatic savages whose technology is either stolen from more sophisticated peoples, or garbage glued together with shit. Why hasn'...

I have a related question: why doesn't everyone with an above-average mental stat become a spellcaster? What real qualifications do they have that anyone else doesn't have? nothing more than the IP and a right to (ab)use it. Legitimacy. I can find random people to play D&D, I can't find people willing to try "RPG I made up myself." so you have never DM'd and always had the luxury of bei...

Second, again, if all you're going to give me is guidelines and tell me to make shit up, I don't need you to tell me this. Gary said this in the early 80s, yet people are still waiting for the new shiny to come out from WotC for some reason. You want people like Mearls and Wyatt to stop writing RPG...

There is a failing in recent gamers that play RPGs that insist everyone knows everything and there is no 4th wall. You know how Pcs go around talking about their level in the game in character. No, it's that Frank thinks that you can determine what the writer/designer of a game thinks is a "normal" adventure for his game based on the adventures that the writer/designer creates. I think he is right. This is particularly true when pretty much anyone who has played the game knows a...
