The weapon of ruin does nothing for save DCs. The best I can imagine you doing for strength with standard (ECL+0) characters is 18 + 4 (race) +4 (from spells) +level/4 +level/3. That's pretty high, but it's not much better than a caster can get for her primary attribute. Throw in all the DC boostin...

To clarify, do you mean a Fighter takes (IE) TWF as a bonus feat. It is not treated as part of the rest of his normal feats but instead part of a list of feats of which he cannot treat as if he has except for one at a time? It was more of an idea than a worked out system, but I just wondered if Com...

Round 1 Fighter: Whirlwind run by outside of it's 10ft reach with my 20ft reach, and go hit the hellhound too. No AoO. It basically gets hit twice for 2d8+46 damage and dies. If only I had Kai, right? And oh yeah, the hellhound die too. Okay a few questions about TWF. Are these examples assuming th...

Are we all referring to the same feat here? Two Weapon Fighting : On attack: 2 attacks for d6+4 each (avg. damage: 15 * Accuracy). On Attack of Opportunity: 1 attack for d6+4 damage (avg. damage: 7.5 * Accuracy). Spiked Chain guy spending no feats : On attack: 1 attack for 2d4+6 damage (avg. damage:...

Thats why the Fighter gets bonus feats - so he can get those situational things others can't bother with. If the Fighter still gets a ton of bonus feats, and doesn't need to bother with situational feats, and gets a feat of his choice each hour, and RoW powered up feats to be like class features... ...

Problem solver only gives one feat. One feat per hour. But yeah, OK, it is limited to one feat at a time which means you can't just go from Melee-Basher to Auto-Sniper. However, it means a Tome Fighter doesn't ever need to spend feats on things that are situationally useful, so he can just load up ...

When I originally suggested toning down Problem Solver, I was aware that foil action was the class feature that has caused the most consternation. I suggested Problem Solver because: [*] Foil Action is a cool, flavourful, powerful ability thats useful at low and high levels but is totally different ...

Also, Tome Fighter sans Tome Feats. How good is the Tome fighter without Tome feats? Or with Tome feats but without Problem Solver (as it gives the Tome Fighter access to every feat ever made)? I'm interested in getting a 3.5 campaign started and Ive heard Tome Fighter is somewhat overpowered, howe...

For non-casters, expendable resources include hit points With each wand of CLW curing an average of 250 hit points any mid-level party will be fully healed after each engagement. The only danger is if someone dies mid fight. This means challenges that are faced by warriors are pretty much a binary ...

Expendable resources
From the DMG: An encounter with an EL equal to the PC's level is one that should expend about 20% of their resources - hit points, spells, magic item uses and so on. Whilst this dynamic sounds reasonable for casters, once the wands of CLW come on line hit points are pretty much fully refreshed betwe...

Why do we even have this sort of scaling item anyway? Unless you can only get one sort of scaling item that makes you better at one specific thing, there's no point to having these items that isn't solved by just making those properties properties of the heroes themselves. Shouldn't this sort of ba...

I have a few questions about the effects listed earlier: If scaling bonus items are minor items, however in the effects listed there were several weapon rider effects listed at minor, does this make 2 tiers of minor weapons? Those with a simple scaling plus and those with a rider? Or is the idea tha...

So here are derivable points: Level 2:[/b] Any item that is not a minor magic item can be upgraded to a masterwork version. Using PHB prices a Masterwork suit of Plate Mail and Greatsword runs you around 2,000gp. DMG WBL for level 2 runs at 900gp. [*] Level 7: Any magic item slot that does not have...
