One thing that bothers is me is your assertion that alternating extremes of good/evil behavior somehow cancel itself out to "neutral".

In modern sensiblities, It usually doesn't - if you go around randomly murdering some hobos and giving money to others, you're still evil.

It needs the Use Giant Frog and craft(giant frog) skills, and maybe a bonus [Giant Frog] feat such as Weapon Focus (Giant Frog), Exotic Giant Frog Proficiency. At later levels, the Giant Frog attack should ignore Giant Frog Immunity in order to stay in the game, otherwise we're back in Giant Frogs C...

* Can the spirit have any combination of PC classes? * What happens when the spirit is destroyed? * If the spirit is a spellcaster, does it appear with all spells memorized? * The last ability in the set is a bit much, as a Samurai with 16 wisdom (trivial to obtain) Can summon a PC of equal level (W...

You need "combat style" to use a spear as a reach weapon? That's somewhat counterintuitive.

What are the spirit's ability scores? As a PC? Does it have any equipment? Can you give it equipment (like a ghost-touch weapon) and it will keep it on the next summoning? What happens when it is destroyed? Can you choose for it to appear incorporeal when it has the option not to, and still retain t...

Would a carnivore species drink coffee? Or is their digestive system not suited for it? Probably not. Caffeine is an alkaloid neurotoxin produced by plants as a pesticide; It has similar effect on humans, we just don't consume much and have much larger bodymass than insects. A purely carnivorous sp...

Astral Deva - Furry Angelic looking things aren't monstrous. Planetar - Large Solar - Large Again, angelic appearance, which is certainly not monstrous. This statement is patently false. Not only is there no consensus on what "Angelic looking things" look like in D&D-land, it doesn't ...

Re: How to obtain balance in RPG design.

So unless you remove the freedom of choice to deviate from the guessed method at any point, how much testing would be needed to get any kind of balance for the game? It's clear that any system that allows a certain MTP element will induce a "wobble factor" on mechanics, but that certainly...

Re: How to obtain balance in RPG design.

Once in use, such would only work if you could get someone to play a game, where they just compare results, and have no free0will to swerve off the path and try something for themselves. Odds are the game would not be played long except by diehard players. Surely I'm mistaken and you did not just c...

A fighter fix would obviously be to make it an NPC-only class, and explicitly declare that in D&D it is near-impossible to tell the story of an ordinary dude that facestabs beings with power of reality itself. Limit the fighter class to 3 or 5 levels to protect players insistent on smearing suck...
