Can we please get back to the sorceror vs. the wizard and move on from the NPC debate and economic system discussion. Thanks.

Being a Dm requires multiple talents. Included is the ability to adapt what you originaly wrote to what is actually happening. ...a lot of the time, my characters have brought up logic points and ideas that totally shatter the plans he had or are way cooler in the end and bring about better plot in ...

Re: Looking for a set of superhero powers
Going off the other four characters, I guess, to me, you're missing a darker character. Sort of like the "Raven" character from Teen Titans. Someone with a mysterious, redemable quality. I like the idea of a character who has the ability to dive into other people's minds and use psionic-li...

Why shouldn't they be allowed to post? That would indicate they like what they see, decided to take an interest, and might very well become our newest member.

Re: Puzzle Monsters and Tactics
My party tends to communicate well. We sit down and design our characters. After the first few combats, we get down to a routine, which at times can backfire, but everyone knows what they're good at. We come to rely on each other, expecting the rogue to hold back until a good flanking position is cl...

Had no idea that it was his mom in the suit. When did they drop that bomb? Clearly I missed something.

If you're interested in some really awesome story lines with cool plots and cultural inspirations, try Twelve Kingdoms. It rocks the house. I'm serious.

Re: Anime
I love Ranma 1/2 and by extension Inuyasha.[br]Bring on Ghost in the Shell and the cult classic, Akira. Loved Evangelion, but I hated the end...it hurt my brain. Enjoyed Wolves Rain, but again the end. I've moved beyond my earlier phase with Dragon Ball Z, but I still loved it and Teen Titans rocks,...

Can't say that I've ever really used them myself. Most of the time we roleplay stuff like that out.

Re: Should deities just go away in the core rules?
I think that having a godless cleric defeats the idea of a cleric class. I've seen some pretty cheesey PC's who began as clerics. And I have to agree, if you don't want to play a character that worships a particular god, then play a wizard or a sorcerer. In the past I have found that some of the god...

Re: Most interesting plots, npcs, etc
How do you guys normally role play your gnomes? I've encountered gnomes who are so backwards that talking to them hurts my brain:pimpslapped:[br]Normally I see them as child-like but intellegent. [br][br]As for illusions, I've been on both ends of spectrum when you just want to slap the DM for think...

Re: Oh, the games we play!
It's pretty much expected that you won't spend every moment of your waking life devoting stats and whatnot to combat and challenge solving, as the majority of roleplay seems to be slice of life and conversational, with emphasis towards the dramatic. In fact, taking active power or effectiveness hit...

I have a similar problem. I'm 24 as of February and everyone thinks I'm 16 maybe 18. I look on the bright side, when I'm 40, I'm gonna be so hot.

Most interesting plots, npcs, etc
Sometimes I'll go through a bit of DMing block, kind of a time when I can't think of anything good for an adventure time. I hate those times. My experience with DnD has not been the typical dungeon crawl. We have a few in the campaign, but we love variety. So, I was wondering what kind of wonderful ...

Re: Character Optimization...
Jack, I'm playing devil's advocate, because I do understand that you need to be intelligent with your character's abilities so that you pull your own weight. I, however, am worried about how much cheesing a person is expected to do. If I decide to play a straight rogue out of the PHB from 1st lvl to...

Re: Desecrating in the name of Good
[br] Control and Bolster checks are turning checks as well. Penalizing all turning checks is advantageous to the forces of good if the forces of evil have more clerics on hand. [br][br]Moo? Wouldn't the forces of evil benefit from desecrate? Undead do get bonus when on desecrated ground? The profane...
