Last night there was a thread in 'MPSIMS' called 'You are invited to the debate challenge' or some such. It's gone now, why? I would guess that it is because it is trying to get posters to go from this board to another, which is verbotten or is there some other reason?

One trope you can involve is that magic and steam punk just don't mix, if you involve steam punk in your mecha. That way wizards wouldn't be better pilots than fighters necessarily. You can also tie mecha-piloting related skills to dexterity, reflexes and coordination should be important to being a ...

I wonder if they will be able to whip up much interest on release day. WotC have the bank roll to do a lot of marketing, but if they really cared about the property would Mearls be at the helm? Them releasing 5e without much fanfare is possible but I think if the project doesn't find a lot more trac...

I believe there is a way for a Sorcerer of Razmir to get a focus that lets them cast spells with small (100gp or less) gold costs for free. I don't know of anyway to cast Wish for free, unless you can cast it as a spell like or supernatural ability. There is a feat tree that will let you cast a 5th ...

Is there such thing as penile reduction? It isn't a big deal, but it would be nice to take a dump without my dick getting toilet water on it, or to get wood and be able to hide it. If there is I bet it is expensive. It is probably cheaper to just get cosmetic surgery, then you can get into porn to ...

The PFSRD has a spell database (more like a spread sheet) that you can use to search the spells in the supplements a bit more easily. There may be a better online database like imarvintpa.com did for 3.5. Long story short though, Wizards have multiple spells targeting each saving throw at each level...

To me, strength and charisma equals a Battle Oracle. There are other melee and melee/caster options like a Bard or an Inquisitor, but I think Oracle is best.

In my schooling I learned a bit about the scientific method. My instructor explained that a good model can explain previous data and make accurate predictions about future data. Did your model of our economy predict any type of bust around 2008? If not then you might be better off discarding it. I'm...

Let's examine one of the statements from the start of your post. "The notion that the central banking system is in place to prevent inflation and stabilize the economy is a bold-faced lie. In fact, the "business cycle" is actually created by the Fed...and because they know when their ...

Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever really know if there where shenanigans involved in the Kickstarter. Assuming there was then they'll get cash hungry sooner in their dev cycle than they normally would, since they have less starting capital. I think they'll end up doing what Mechwarrior Online d...

Just a hypothetical, if you pirate 99% of what you get, why not pirate it first then buy it if you like it? Or are you so blasé about CGL's current offerings you want a review to see if it is even worth wasting a few dozen megabytes of bandwidth?

3,400 pledges for $100. That's interesting. The plurality of pledges is pretty high for a MMORPG. I would imagine that if you looked at the number of pledges per price point for most kick starters it would form a bell curve. Maybe a non-symmetrical bell curve but a bell curve none the less. The Path...

I always assumed level 6 was considered a point where classes where equal not because they absolutely where but that most classes primary shticks could solve level appropriate challenges. I would add that ACKS and Myth and Magic both tried to fill an unfilled niche. They also put in work to build a fan base. I would expect someone unestablished to get less that 40K if they where pitching a 3.5 retroclone (is 5 years enough to call something retro?), even though it is a much larger pi...

Similarly about 8 years ago 1 Canadian dollar was worth about 65 US cents. We've been at parity for a few years now, but we haven't gone over it. I know both the Liberal and Conservatives want the CDN dollar to go down in value, it's better for our trade but it hasn't really budged. I wonder what co...

I liked the old Shackled City AP, replayable and reasonably challenging. I also liked UA for 3.5, it had a lot of interesting options and didn't seem bloated with filler. Book of Nine Swords because it was innovative and it made melee viable.

Dwimmermount, which is a Mega Dungeon by OSR blogger James Maliszewski brought in nearly 50K. It's slated to actually ship hard copies about a year after the Kickstarter finished, which I think is about standard unfortunately. Adventurer, Conquerer, King brought in about 12K for its core book and an...
