Re: Sharing the Experience Drain?
[br] Certain requirements must be met in order for a character to create a magic item. These include feats , spells, and miscellaneous requirements such as race or kind. The prerequisites for creation of an item are given immediately following the item's caster level.[br]A spell prerequisite may be ...

Re: Alignment Sucks
Heck, I can't even tell what Law and Chaos even are. Sometimes Law seems to be being true to yourself (example: Lawful Evil Swordsman with an unshakable, if perplexing, personal code) - while at other times it seems to be devotion to an external code regardless of personal beliefs (example: Lawful N...

Yes, there's plenty of room for being an environmentalist without being a vegan or living in a yurt.

Re: Subdual damage from overexposure
That I don't know. If you play with 3.5 Endure Elements - then yes. That spell severely sucks - but it does say that you are "comfortable" at -50 degrees F. That means you don't shrink.[br][br]I have no idea whether 3rd edition Endure Elements stops shrinkage or not. You don't take any dam...

Re: Wizards
Therefore, wizards should have access to every spell in the game, and should have the best versions of every spell in the game. [br][br]No. My conclusion is that every spell the Wizard has access to should be massively superior to any spell that a Cleric can come up with that does the same thing.[b...

Alignment Sucks
OK, we've all dealt with Alignment since we first started gaming - and it's one of the hardest concepts to get a hand on. It's also the subject which brings up more debates than anything else. And it does so because it sucks.[br][br]Why? Because Alignment has two problems that it can't address:[br][...

If you take damage from cold, it is "cold damage". If you take damage from heat, it is "Fire damage".

Re: Wizards
That still wouldn't do it.[br][br]The design intent of a Wizard is to be good at whatever spells you happen to know . When you get to 3rd level, you know exactly two 2nd level spells, one of which is from your specialty school, and one of which can be anything off the wizard list. Those two spells a...

Re: Sharing the Experience Drain?
It's right out of the 3.5 DMG. However, the 3rd edition DMG implied this was possible when they said that more than one character could contribute to making an item on page 241 (although how one was to go about doing this was unclear).[br][br]The ELH says that characters can contribute XP towards ma...

Who designed that damn thing?
The same person who thought it was a great idea for Shapechange to grant Supernatural abilities after saying that some abilities were made Supernatural because they wouldn't be game balanced if they were transfered to other creatures.

Re: Sharing the Experience Drain?
No, any number of characters can participate in creating a magic item - and any or all of them can contribute one or more of the prerequisites (such as the Item Creation Feat or a needed spell). One of the characters is chosen by the group as the primary creator and that character pays the XP.[br][b...

Re: Wizards
Your comparisons are inane. While some are simply outright false - the most important thing is that you are comparing maximum damage at a level where you wouldn't cast either spell . The important thing is not which one has the highest spell cap - but what actually hurts things the most when you hav...

Or to put it more simply:[br][br]A Wizard who specializes in Summon Monster doesn't get anything out of the fact that he could have prepared Binding Power Loops instead. Re: Wizards
The division laid out on, say, page 95 of the DMG. [br][br]That division is bullshit. Clerics have just as many flashy spells as Wizards. Wizards have Minor Creation - which is in turn capable of generating thousands of applications of healing salve, etc.[br][br] Flame Strike, their first real dd (...

Re: The spell Animate Object .... worthless?
The spell is chaff. The duration is craptacular and it's really high level for what it does.[br][br]There's lots of clever uses for the spell - an animated chest can open itself, an animated bridge can hurl everyone it into the ravine, etc. But it's also higher level than Telekinesis . If you had su...

Re: 3.0 Haste
The spell fails the 3.0 feat test. It becomes increasingly (and exponentially) more powerful as level increases (making the spell increasingly less balanced). [br][br]Then the feat test is retarded - even Weapon Focus fails that.[br][br]+1 to-hit is worth an average of .05 * average damage * critic...

Re: Prestige Domains and the spells they give you
Oberoni is indeed correct on this one - you get the Divine Spellcaster benefits of having a Prestige Domain so long as you have one or more divine spellcaster classes. You get the Arcane Spellcaster benefits if you have one or more arcane spellcaster classes.[br][br]So a Cleric/Druid/Sorcerer/Wizard...

Thoughts? [br][br]This could work. It's similar to something from the Final Fantasy d20 rules....[br][br] Races with Level Requirements Some races, such as Lamia or Giants, are very powerful. But people still want to play Ethergaunts! Re: ECL Adjustment Feedback
This math really is very hard to follow. And the worst part is the part you have not even addressed - which is how fast the characters are intended to accumulate XP once you ahve determined how much they have. After all, if a Tiefling is still generating XP at the same rate with 7 levels of wizard t...
