They added the four-copies-max stipulation around the same time. You read that Foglio comic, before? With the deck made of 40 Rukh Eggs? They weren't getting cute with hyperbole or anything, you could just do that. It doesn't work anymore, even if you could run 60-of, because at some point the orac...

When the mill engine doesn't kill, it sometimes gets used on yourself. When it can.

I think you probably want something like Mafia, where you have turns that rotate at specific real times. Players talk among themselves and declare actions during the turn. They can change their declarations whenever they want during this time. When the "bell rings", everyone's declared act...

[*] Thus, minimum wage, at least in NYC, should be at least $20/hr The point here should be that Federal Law is not the best, or even a possible, remedy for problems exclusive to one of the two or three highest standard of living cost locations in the country. The federal minimum wage should be set...

Here's my math: People who work more than 40 hours a week get less done per week than those who work 40 hours a week. Thus, we shouldn't encourage people to work more than 40 hours a week. Thus, people should be able to live and support their families on 40 hours of wages a week. That's approximatel...

If Digimon has a TTRPG rulesset, I'll at least take a look at Digimon despite knowing almost nothing about the series. Digimon is about kids with pet demons that come from the Internet. Many of the demons resemble machines. The kids use portable electronic devices to empower their demons and do som...

is it possible to design a digital ccg that's not p2w (but still profitable) and if so, how? Pay-to-Play: you will never encounter an opponent you can gain an advantage over by spending money, because non-payers are excluded from the sample set. Sponsorship: someone else pays you, such as an advert...

You don't know what pay-to-win means. so what does it mean? as far as i know there is no widely accepted definition and without one your dispute is a bit silly. to me a game is pay-to-win if players cannot compete at the highest level unless they pay. this doesn't seem to be the case in hearthstone...

It could plausibly be a sexy human that doesn't bathe. Or that uses skunk spray as perfume. That's not a very inviting prostitute, of course, but still, a hole is a hole, even if that hole is probably diseased. That's what condoms are for. I would imagine that it would be difficult to fuck while in...

So any creature that has, for example, an incapacitating stench, is not one that can be convincingly polymorphed into a human. However sexy it looks , it will still have an incapacitating stench. It could plausibly be a sexy human that doesn't bathe. Or that uses skunk spray as perfume. That's not ...

Unclear but probably not in most formats. The ability to do more off just one land and the increased storm/prowess counts without sacrificing power just seem so good . Maybe if you were in a format where auras (2-for-1) and/or expensive equips (time walk you) were popular, or where people played lot...

I suppose I'll just plop out my whole argument instead of trying to be clever: no card is ever objectively good. Cards are only good in context. The last two Pro Tours (Origins and Dragons of Tarkir) were won by players with decks that contained as many copies of Lightning Strike as they were allowe...

Let's be honest - the only thing that "bad cards" do is get the creators of the game more money, because they can replace good cards in booster packs, causing people to buy more in their quest for good cards. That's the only acceptable reason for their existence. Making up any other excus...

Two LEDs into The Cheese Stands Alone turn 1 sounds nice. Wouldn't work. You discard your hand before you get to use the mana. You'd need to do it turn 2. Turn 1 Ebon Stronghold and two LEDs, turn two sac it out for a Demonic Tutor and 6 white mana. You win the game on turn 3 upkeep unless your opp...
