Does anybody know when Pathfinder 2.0 is coming out? Pretty sure you weren't serious, but Pathfinder Unchained will hit the shelves next month and apparently it's full of uncorns and fluffy rainbows and will make all problems disappear. As in, they're revisiting the Summoner (understandable), Barba...

Oh, I remember this one! think I got a copy at the SPIEL a few years ago which I sold afterwards, but I liked a few ideas (others not so much). Regarding "Mesopotamians" vs "Sumerians", I would say that's the author being realistic. Mesopotamians is a collective term that could b...

I'd be careful to include a "12 tribes" argument into the while Jews debate since there are several instances of a "13 minus 1" theme in the setting (planes, moons, dragonmarks, etc.), it's not something unique to Eberron's dwarves.

I have no idea what the numbers are supposed to be, and neither does anyone else. It isn't like the 3.5 issue where it's either +P or -P and you could plausibly take one side or the other. It's seriously just all over the place and I don't have any idea how to even begin having that conversation. -...

One of those guys gets teleport, polymorph , and hold monster , and the other one doesn't. Even within the same niche I'd say that is a difference, especially since level 12 is a point where lots of games seem to fizzle out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying EK is great as-is, but if I were to make...

I own a copy of RoE with the "Races of" cover and I didn't even know about the alternate cover till now, but I always found it strange to have an Eberron book without style used for all other supplements... what a weird marketing decision. and I agree that it's probably the weakest of all ...

Sure, lots of divine sword-casters, but most of them just don't have the same kind of vibe you get from an arcane mage, especially if you want to do some blasting. Those classes are also not really affected by that new FAQ because early entry to AA and EK is what people where talking about. Forgot a...

But as far as the Eldritch Knight goes, you have tons of classes that allow you to cast spells and swing a sword, more or less. Are there really tons of arcane sword-casters? I am aware of bard, magus, bloodrager, that's it (unless you count the alchemist and investigator in for some reason). That'...

I actually looked into the numerous threads sparked by that FAQ backpedaling and it seems a lot more people are getting upset about this than you think. Reminds me a little bit of 4E's gnomes to be honest, but I suspect part of the feelings right now exist only because that FAQ came totally out of t...

That, and the problem becomes worse with all those "this (Sp) works like spell XXX, except that YYY" abilities where some people argue it counts as having spell XXX for all intends and purposes, and some poeple argue it doesn't. These discussions have been around since the CRB's release, f...

That Stealth discussion is the most interesting thing happening in the PF thread for months, and instead of cherrypicking quotes without names or context for some argument the whole discussion should probably be swapped into a separate thread.

and Wilkes has done some MtG stuff? If that's true then she must have messed up badly to get demoted to the d&d division. It's the other way around: since MtG these days has better art, better mechanics, and a better storyline (for fuck's sake!) it doesn't matter who was send down to D&D, i...

So +20 DC for reducing a task from 1 minute to 1 standard action... how is that even useful? Also, using this table would only increase the problems with the above example of ...

As much as I like the idea of taking 10/20 on Strength checks to kick down a door, it poses a question: what about other abilities? Do you create an exception for Strength alone, or do you allow for example taking 10 on Intelligence or Constitution checks as well? The benefit I see from taking the l...

There is a new pathfinder Wizard archetype that lets them cast any spell from the Bard, Cleric or Druid list a few time per day on a delay. They have to give up school specialization to do it, so what could have been awesome is now just meh. Which one is that? Considering the number of ways in Path...

Okay, fine. 1.) The first is that Pathfinder decided to go for incremental and highly visible but unimportant changes to 3.5E D&D rather than going all-out. 2.) Because of this, the game's power level has slowly floated up thanks to expansion creep and in a lot of ways the game is more unbalanc...

Tell the French that at Agincourt. I'm a bit skeptical as to how much a role the armor itself played in that whole fiasco given that charging through furrows isn't exactly easy in the best of times. Well it certainly helped to de-mystify the 'invincible knight in his armor', who before was only see...
