My involvement with praying mantis kung fu results in religious and family categorizations... but no sport.

My real name provides no traces (my last name was literally made up during prohibition and my first name is pretty rare), my old archerpwr handle pops up like four posts about me, and ubernoob is common enough that most of what I got wasn't about me.

So yeah, I'm a ghost.

Weirdly, my net presence seems to be from my middle and last names. There's like, several hundred of dudes with those as their first and last names alive right now, and a hundred from the last 400 years.

So...what little IS me is mostly drowned out.

Vaguely related, I wonder if Facebook is doing some similar sort of tracking thing now.

I mean, I was wandering around Facebook today and I saw Frank under 'suggested people to friend' (or whatever it's called). I thought this was awfully weird because I don't have any of his friends friended (I don't even know them), and as far as I know I've never done or said anything even vaguely related to him on Facebook. What the hell?

Maybe it's time to get rid of the thing.

I think they also use e-mail contact lists to get suggestions. At least, I once got one of my professors as a suggested friend; and this was back when I had only two Facebook friends, none from the college, and the only contact that Facebook would have known about would have been e-mails related to class.

An awesome bolt of multicolored light fires from your eyes and strikes your foe, disintegrating him into a fine dust in a nonmagical way.
