So FFXI is down for at least a week because there are going to be rolling black-outs in Japan and they can't afford the electricity. They are refunding the entire month to all the players.

This is insignificant when you consider the nuclear reactors melting down and maybe 10K dead and thousands more without food and water, but I thought it was an eye-catching way to get people's attention.

It's a good time to donate to the Red Cross.

Indeed I agree. I do hope that as many lives as possible are saved.

Probably, they'll use the week downtime to move the servers. But my heart seriously goes out to Japan.

:(
My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.

I'm just glad it hit Japan and not Korea.

The U.S. isn't a democracy and if you think it is, you are a rube.

That's libertarians for you - anarchists who want police protection from their slaves.

A couple interesting links filtered from my dad's daily newsfeed...

http://mitnse.com/2011/03/13/why-i-am-n ... -reactors/
[Link about japan nuclear reactors]

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011 ... mi.html?hp
[before and after pics, flash html5?]

An aside... Posting from an iPod is shitty as hell. Every time I go back and forth between pages like from copypasting links the fucking thing refreshes and loses all that I did. If there is a way to turn off the OCD autorefresh on iPods then I would happily learn it. Autorefresh also fucks me when I want to view an already loaded page when offline.

So, my workaround for posting will to just post and go back and edit each additiinal link. Ugh.
