And from the gaming den it seems O.o
sad in both cases.

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

Ok then: "I ain't never" is a double negative. Don't do it, its bad.

This being the Internet it follows that Everything I say must be the Complete Truth or Utter Falsehood. I prefer both at the same time.

This linguistics professor was lecturing the class.
"In English," he explained, "a double negative forms a positive. In some languages, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative."
"However," the professor continued, "there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."
Immediately, a voice from the back of the room piped up: "Yeah..... right...."

And in colliqui colluqui REAL* English, a double negative is being emphatic. Two negatives making a positive mainly applies in mathematical pursuits.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

I had a laugh this weekend when a friend at the local gaming store asked me if all these Shadowrun "netbooks" he'd been seeing online were legit. After a clarification of my feelings on the legitimacy of the current publisher I let him know that yes, CGL did release them and that we were supposed to consider them official.
We didn't talk much about the quality of the current crop, outside of the fact that the layout work on the PDF seems to be much better than the dead tree format products released recently.
Anyone else run into folks who don't frequent the forums but find the current situation a bit whack? I recall someone last year saying something to the effect that haters like me are the minority and that the majority of non-forum viewing fans are happy with the current state of the line. Of course that was a year ago and a lot has happened, or not happened, in that time.

Speaking personally (did not check any gaming forums before fall of 2010) I had absolutely no problem with CGL or their product when I was unaware of the situation.
For a minute, I used to be "a guy" in the TTRPG "industry". Now I'm just a nobody. For the most part, it's a relief.

Beyond the "Missions" stuff, PDF-only releases have been part of CGL's plans for awhile. John Dunn was spearheading that effort under Peter Taylor before they both walked away.
Outside my gaming group the only non-Internet contact I have is with my FLGS owner. I recently learned he's on a first name basis with former SR writers and devs, including Tom Dowd, and was involved in adventure submissions, fanzines and tournaments during the 1st ed. years. My perception is that he's okay with the product line. But he may only be collecting out of habit rather than actually reading or using the books. I also don't imagine that too many retailers would be harshing on any product as they actually want to sell this stuff to the public.

I've seen no shadowrun books outside of the odd copy of Augmentation in any game or book store I've been in within the last 6 months. I've checked out maybe half a dozen gaming stores in the greater Los Angeles area, so I can't speak authoritatively, but SR seems to be a dead product line in the places I've been.

In NY I've seen SR books in pretty much every barnes & nobles/boarders I've been in. It's usually one or two copies of the core rulebook and a small random selection of augmentation, unwired, street magic and arsenal. Every FLGS I've been in on this coast, mostly at convention dealers' rooms, has had a better selection of SR products than that.
So maybe this is a west coast east coast thing.

That's really cool. I'd love to be on a first name basis with Tom Dowd.I recently learned he's on a first name basis with former SR writers and devs, including Tom Dowd, and was involved in adventure submissions, fanzines and tournaments during the 1st ed. years.

I deleted my account there because self-important, moronic douches like Medizinmann have far too much sway there. Same with the Nexus forum.
I'm half active in the Technoschamane forums, though more for general chatter (right now a semi flamewar on nuclear policy) and theoretically a pbp game where neither I nor the player I wanted to join with are in any way enthusiastic. I'm more and more ito Dark Heresy though.
Edit: I'm also active on the Anitopia Forums. More or less. Pbp at 1 post/week with a friend.

I haven't done any real work on my projects for Easter Week because my family is in town and I've been showing them around Prague when I'm not in school. But they are leaving Wednesday morning.

I always corrected Him when He was wrong and his Ego couldn't take it .Sooner or Later he started to insult me (As You can obviously see) and since I don't back down when He's wrong he starts a Flame which ended with him getting a lot of Warnings by the Admins of the Forums. And since I'm not the only one he's holding Grouches (Is that the right Word ?) and Insults I can only guess that He got one Warning too much and was expelledhermit wrote:I deleted my account there because self-important, moronic douches like Medizinmann have far too much sway there.
